Fantasy books

I read The Cronicles of Thomas Covenant, by Donaldson a long time ago and I thought it was pretty good. I would certainly recommend Stephen King's Dark Tower series, although, it is more pseudo-fantasy than what you are probably talking about.

Wheel of time is really good, also, Terry Goodkind Sword of Truth series. It might be a little bit more fantasy, but still its really good.

Anyone know some good books, I mean with story, about vikings? Or at least some which have to do with the norse mythology? Something like eaters of the dead is also fine.

Poul Anderson, who can usually be found under sci-fi in the (he wrote Conan), has a book called Mother of Kings, which is loosely (note LOOSELY) based on the lives of real life characters. I thought it was pretty good...

EDDA :-)

and again Wolfgang Hohlbein, his book Midgard is a quite good version of Ragnarok. There are little mistakes, but they aren't heavy.....

I always thoguth Hohlbein did childrens books ^^
But i'll check into it, Poul Anderson also has quite a few about the vikings.
Thanks for the answers

children books ??????????????
What should that be???????
I think, the way, he describes a dead person, or its cause of death, or maybe its resurrection is sometimes nothing for too little children... :-)

i've seen some books of him in the childrens section ^^. When I was younger and wanted to read Stephen King they told me to rather read his books, because Stephen King is for older people ^^

Pick up The Sagas of the Icelanders for sure. Egil's Saga will make you want to drink ungodly amounts of ale, throw up in someone's face, then run around lifting heavy stones and taking an axe to your enemies' heads.

The book of swords Trilogy by fred saberhagen, also Gods of Fire and Thunder, and Eye of Odin. all pretty good

The dark elf trilogy by R.A Salvatore and really anything by this author are the grandest.
i.e Homeland
Exile
Sojourn
