Favorite Agalloch Album!

Mine is The Mantle for it's simplicity and awesome "I'm sitting in a log cabin" feeling. What's your favorite album?

The Mantle is EASILY my favorite album for ANYTHING.

Pale Folklore

Though I feel Of Stone, Wind, and Pillor is their best release. The EP flows perfectly, and is not overlong.

I put Pale Folklore, but I could just as easily have picked Ashes Against the Grain. If From Which of This Oak had better production, that would be my favorite.

This is not surprising, actually. A truly amazing band.

Yeah, Agalloch is indeed a great band. Although the drumming could use help, especially in the early releases.

For me it's a tie between the first two. I'll vote Pale Folklore because I'm mesmerized by 'As Embers Dress The Sky' every time.

meh. They're not a band that I'd ever consider being letdown by the drumming.

They're more about atmosphere than anything else, but drumming is pretty much the first thing I notice in a band. I didn't really pay attention to drumming when I first heard Agalloch, but now it's one of my primary factors in if I appreciate a band or not.

I picked AATG. It's the most consistenly good Agalloch album. I think the other two albums are a mix of awesome songs and clunkers. AATG doesn't have the musicianship problems of the other two, and the production is really good on AATG.
