I'm not saying metal. I'm just saying doesn't listen to rap/pop/country. Anything else I can tolerate, or possibly even like. And for a lot of us, music has a huge impact on our lives.

nigga please ... I know you are 15 years younger then me, and I would have said the same thing probably at that time ... but unless you are looking to open a record label together or your life revolve around music ... I really see no big deal.

to me really its cultural similarities are most important, background, values, what do they want to accomplish ... etc.

of course some people i meet, especially Americans born here, I have a hard time connecting with as they do not share the same background as me or can relate to my experiences, or me to theirs ... but listening to same type of music has nothing to do with it.

maybe it has to do with the fact that music was always my escape ... so if I want to go to a show or go nuts for an evening ... i associate that with my freedom ... and not sure I would want my SO there :loco:

Lol. I don't think all women are whores. I just want to have something in common with somebody i'm going to spend time with. What's the point in having a GF who you couldn't even be friends with?

This is what we call a prostitute

I care about the values, similar goes in life. But more importantly than that. I want somebody who I can enjoy doing shit with. I want somebody who spending time with IS NOT a chore, but something to look forward to.

but listening to same type of music has nothing to do with it.

For the record. once again. i never said the same musical interests/taste. I just said she can't listen to crap. For several reasons:
1. I'd go insane having to listen to that shit. You know she'd make you hear it.
2. Fighting for the stereo sucks
3. You might introduce her to something she likes, or vice versa.

Music isn't my escape. Music is something that just comes WITH me. And yeah, i understand that. But a good SO will understand that you sometimes need a "dudes night out"

Yeah. I agree there. Rocker/punk/metal chicks are not my thing either. It's a case of common interests and values. And since music is one of my biggest interests. It holds to say that it would have to be something I look for.

I completely agree. Having the same musical tastes as your sig. other is 1000% overrated.

If anything, it gives EACH of you a great opportunity to spend some time apart (going to shows, etc.).
