nigga please ... I know you are 15 years younger then me, and I would have said the same thing probably at that time ... but unless you are looking to open a record label together or your life revolve around music ... I really see no big deal.
to me really its cultural similarities are most important, background, values, what do they want to accomplish ... etc.
of course some people i meet, especially Americans born here, I have a hard time connecting with as they do not share the same background as me or can relate to my experiences, or me to theirs ... but listening to same type of music has nothing to do with it.
maybe it has to do with the fact that music was always my escape ... so if I want to go to a show or go nuts for an evening ... i associate that with my freedom ... and not sure I would want my SO there
