I won´t bother to make an endless list of band/artists, so I´ll limit it to metal.
I find Madder Mortem an excellent band, absolutely the best female fronted metal band I´ve heard so far. Crystal Viper is one of the best contemporary traditional metal bands I´ve heard so far. In the Woods made some very good stuff and The 3d and The Mortal as well. An honorable mention also goes to The Gathering (some of their stuff I like and some I don´t) and Nuclear Death (as a band responsible for some of the sickest death metal ever made).
