Females in Music

When I was thinking about music I realized that, unfortunately, most, but not all, of the music that I listen to is being written and performed by males.

I was hoping I could get a lot of recommendations on quality music being done by females in any genre: whether it be female fronted bands, solo artists or just a band or group with female musicians...

what females musicians are you listening to?
Lacuna Coil
Lana Lane
Power Symphony
Sinergy
Moon Of Steel
Blackmore's Night
Kurgan's Bane
Within Temptation
Black Knight
Forgotten Tales
Beholder

Also I recommend:

Mastermind - "Angels Of The Apocalypse"
Stormwind - "Stargate"
Rick Wakeman - "1984"
Beto Vazquez Infinity - S/T

And a great female singer: Joan Baez

Not in my taste but worth checking:

After Forever
The Gathering
Beseech
Epica
Doro/Warlock
Zed Yago
Vixen :loco:
Lita Ford :p
Joan Jett

I recently stumbled upon a japanese female trio called the 5,6,7,8's who play surf rock tunes. They are featured in Quentin Tarantino's film, kill-bill... They are quite good at what they do...
Hey, I remember those from the movie!! They were quite hillarious, but still pretty good... Catchy name, too :tickled:

does anyone know of an all female electric string band from Australia/NewZealand? it is NOT 'Bond', but another quartet/quintet. I'm trying to locate their website for a friend, but I cannot recall the name of this group. I had the website addy at one time, but since it has mysteriously disappeared...I humbly ask for your help.
