When I was thinking about music I realized that, unfortunately, most, but not all, of the music that I listen to is being written and performed by males.

I was hoping I could get a lot of recommendations on quality music being done by females in any genre: whether it be female fronted bands, solo artists or just a band or group with female musicians...

I recently stumbled upon a japanese female trio called the 5,6,7,8's who play surf rock tunes. They are featured in Quentin Tarantino's film, kill-bill... They are quite good at what they do...

does anyone know of an all female electric string band from Australia/NewZealand? it is NOT 'Bond', but another quartet/quintet. I'm trying to locate their website for a friend, but I cannot recall the name of this group.
