finnish festivals

I guess. Never been there tho, 'cause it's been held at the same time as my favourite festival, Ilosaarirock... Stone can rate that Tuska better, eh?

nah, it's not better but different (comparing to ilosaari) ääh..ilosaari has been and will(?) the best finnish summerfest, not cause of the bands but its great atmosphere :) and it's also more traditional (you know..tents, drinking all day and night long, sleeping in bajamajas, boiling beer etc etc)
tuska is great too, yes the metal atmosphere's fun and that, and it's in the middle of helsinki and no tents, ppl go home to sleep and come back next day. hell of a drinking and warm beer, those you can find there too. last year wasnt too great, the bands i mean. i spent three days behind the beertent :D

Let's just wait and see...

hey, i was just about to mention it, but hesitated because i'm not sure if you like the music which is mostly played there. I'd been there last year and i didn't like it that much! Much ebm/dark wave stuff and that! Maybe this year the setlist will be different but i don't guess it will.

And where is that been held exactly? I got a kick out of that kind of music after many years when I stumbled on a club called the cave at frankfurt. people dressed up like vampires were goin nuts on a dancefloor :D

i would personally love! to go to a tango festival. i saw documentaries about fins and their passion of tango, and when i hear those tango schlagers they play (preferably by old ladies and an accordeon on a market place while it's snowing) i must admit, i get tears in my eyes...

well, during eastern i'm going once again to turku, moisio. perhaps a bit of helsinki and i hope to visit kotka again too. during summer i really want to go to rovaniemi and up, end of june there is in the saami parts a festival as well, more folk-like i guess, but i wouldn't mind ending up there...

eos, if you need a host during summer somewhere around turku (if for a reason you'd end up there) let me know.

Thanks Siderea!! :) Nice to know

Crack, I still don't know which way we'll drive till Helsinki. First probably to the coast to see Oulu. After that either down the coast or to direction Jyväskylä to see the lakes :). The last week I'm surely gonna spend in Lahti and I may also end up in Naantali for the few days of that week :D

Morpheus: I don't wanna go to the Mera Luna I'm just affraid that they could ruin the end of my holiday

it takes place in Hildesheim. that's the url: http://www.meraluna.de/default.asp you can see their some weird looking people. There was one girl, black hair, pale white coloured face, black lipstick, vampire teeth and a white transparent veil bevore her eyes, and allsoiled in red colour trying to look loke blood:lol:  it was a bit scary, but really silly too!
Anyway, the only good bands were The Gathering and Zeraphine! And Zeraphine played as opener for only 20 minutes and that at 11 a.m.!! The atmosphere was too serious, not so much party and that, so i was a bit pissed, above all cause i lost my ticket (which cost 50 €) right before the entrance. And i had to buy another one there for 60€
 !

Then it rained the whole saturday and it was more like wandering through a bad smelling swamp!

Maybe that all was the reason why it sucked for me. But there were also acts which were disappointed, like Sisters of Mercy, never so sucha boring gig, really! And when Ville Valo entered the stage as Headliner and sang so badly we packed everything and drove back home!

Do you wanna go there Crack? ;) :D

cheers

That's what I hate about them goths... All this stupid outfits and make-up and this serious and catatonic mood... Fuck off, I wanna have a good time not supposedly get depressed while watching a band live... So fuckin' stupid... Shame cos some bands in this genre are worth the attention...

I must admit that once or twice a year I go to a gothic party too. But there the most people are still more or less "normal", mean realistic.
And this is definitely going to far (talking about the grandma on the left):lol::lol:

damn, you should have seen the suicide girl, as we used to call her secretly (mentioning it openly might have been to dangerous;) )!

well, i agree, there are some good bands (e.g. Zeraphine, Dreadful Shadows), and i don't have anything against people dressing extraordinary:D , but as sol already said, i don't like it when people mean to be as serious (evil;) ) as possible. If this is their firm believe, then it's o.k., but then this is no place for me! And sometime i think they can't be serious in what they wear, but hey everyone his own thing.....

I don't mind the clothes (have a few dresses too) which sometimes can look really nice. I just don't like the "I'm more goth than you are"-attitude. I mean they are in the same scene but they fight eachother the whole time. I was once at a party in Zurich. I left after one hour. The arrogance there was horrible! I really prefer death metal concerts. They may have moshpits but they look after eachother :D

you're right, though i'm not into death metal (anymore?). And i do respect those people, too, as i said before, everone to his own pleasure.

i would go to such a festival again when there would be a better band list. I think Pl and Anathema have played there some years before, that would be ace and i would think about travelling to Hildesheim again! But it must be a real good playlist.

Well lets see what the summer brings! Btw Eos are you often in germany at festivals?
