finnish festivals

I would say Bang Your Head, With Full Force , Wacken Open Air and of course Summer Breeze
Tho I don't know about Wacken.. I heard about some shitty things last year and there are really too many people. Summer Breeze is really cool. Two stages but never two bands playing on the same stage, great bands, not too expensive (ticet, food, drinks...). The only not very cool thing last year was that the camping area was pretty far away. There were shuttle busses but mostly pretty full. This year they want to put it much nearer to the festival area. :)
This year I'll probably only go to the Sumer Breeze :)

you're right that Rock am Ring is more commercial, but i was searching for Alternative Rock Festivals, so i didn't mention any other kind of festival. But I'm surprised that they seem to go back to some more heavy stuff, i mean Metallica and Maiden!!! That is (was) metal!
I saw the bandlist so far for summerbreeze and i don't really know many, at least just a few by names and those i don't really listen to. Seems i have to search further!

but Crack, if you're looking for some more heavy festivals, Eos made a good choice there.
If you want to fuck off some vampy's, the Zillo Festival, the Mera Luna and the WGT of course would fit perfectly ;) ! Just kiddin', if you want to go there visit the websites, maybe in the next month you can see who will play there.

cheers

I still don't think anything can reach those good Dynamo fests... Especially from '98-'00, they were great. They brought all sorts of bands. Death, black thrash, power, goth, hardcore, doom.... Anything. It was really ace... :(

I don't know if I would give them my money after all this mess they had the last few years. I just wouldn't trust the guys.. And as far as I know the organization wasn't really good (toilets, shuttle busses..)

You said it... The last few years... These years suck... I'm talkin' 'bout the good old days...

For now they only have a few bands like Amon Amarth, In Flames, Farmer Boys, Subway To Sally, Hollenthon.. doesn't sound that bad ;) There are also loads of people in the messageboard ( where you can tell the guys which bands you would like to see) screaming for Opeth, Anathema, Sentenced and Hypocrisy :D
Achim (the booking-guy) promissed To/Die/For for this year and I still hope that they will get Entwine again :D

found some pics from net..this is tuska :D

Pity, each fest in german has few good bands. Now the only thing i hope is that thos good ones come all over to Graspop.
You're welcome Jussi!
As I said before, only Maiden :headbang: and Six Feet Under  so far, but they are always looking to other fests first, and then they attack! (Belgian nationalism I guess :) ) Its the 4th and 5th of July (along with Wacken)
Anyway, the site is at www.graspop.com (and a English one! and french and dutch), nothing interesting to find there yet.

I've heard of that Tuska thing... Is it good?

well the one and only festival I've been in Finland is tuska2000.
so I can't compare it with any others. but I can say that it was great but as Stone said we had to go some place and come back the other day for the 2nd day of the festival.
besides drinks were expensive but well it's the same shit in every concert in any country I think.
I saw very interesting/should I say weird?:) / there and got lots of pics. but I donno how to put them here :D

On graspop you pay 1€50 for a beer, coke, lemonade, whatever! And I bet its pretty the same in Germany...
