Can I get some recommendations on some bands/artists that play these styles, but with an emphasis on sad, melancholic and beautiful music, rather than the happy, upliftiting music that I think tends to dominate these styles, especially the first two. Anything that sounds remotely like Empyrium's last two albums, but maybe with a more traditional sound.
I've heard most of the obvious choices that are related to metal in some way (Empyrium, early Ulver, Tenhi etc) so you don't need to mention them.
