Follow ups with Bands

I never follow people up unless dates are on hold. I do encourage a face to face meeting and visit to the studio in the first response (or Skype) if it's a cold emailer type. That usually sorts the women from the girls and prevents time wasting on lengthy email responses. The conversion percentage is in the 90's once they're in the door. I'll give em just as much time even if it becomes quickly evident we are not the joint for them. That's brought work years down the track.

Although we have our share of post low-ball approach sessions, they are almost rivaled by people coming back the other way these days. The been on a major, edited to death, been to L.A. or Nashville or whatever and want to do something they see as more representative of the band type clients. Or just have more fun. That's not really a win though, the budgets are still crappy. I do spend less time staring at a fucking computer screen though, so there are winning elements.
