Hey guys,

I know this has been done ten thousand times but it's always fun...

I'm currently in a process of recording an album for a thrash metal band (think mid tempo heavy thrash, no real fast stuff).
We recorded everything and now I'm going to reamp the guitars and maybe the bass too.
It would be fun if some people from here wanted to try a reamping, describing his gear etc.
Here is the megaupload link (all files 24 bits / 44.1 khz) :

Two DI tracks (LTD Eclipse with EMG 81 pups)
Bass and drums (no toms) as a stereo WAV file. Drums are premixed, bass is the DI and a parallel guitar POD distorded track with bit of EQ. It may be a bit dark but I think it's very usable for reamping.

Enjoy and post your guitar tone here !

First: hello everybody, it's my 1st post! I'm enjoying this forum for several months now, and you guys are providing invaluable information. Thank you so much!

So here are my attempts made with ReValver HP. I've used two different post-processing methods, as I can't decide which one is the best (or sucks most...). You tell it!

1) Low pass/high pass, Waves C4 compressor (Andy Sneap settings): Sly reamping ReValver HP V1
2) EQ (cut before 170, 400 slight boost, 700 cut, 1500 slight boost, 3000 slight cut, 7000 slight boost), Voxengo tube warmer: Sly reamping ReValver HP V2

I've put a Waves L3 limiter on both tracks, trying not to damage the sound.

DI tracks have been duplicated so each one sounds fuller through 2 different sims. The scheme is:

Guitar L1 --> [ReValver HP: Greener (TS sim) --> JSX head] --> [Cab IR: GuitarHack Fredman Straight -20] --> Pan 96% L
Guitar L2 --> [ReValver HP: Greener (TS sim) --> 6505 head] --> [Cab IR: GuitarHack Fredman Straight -20] -> Pan 92% L

Guitar R1 --> [ReValver HP: Greener (TS sim) --> JSX head] --> [Cab IR: GuitarHack Fredman Straight -20] --> Pan 92% R
Guitar R2 --> [ReValver HP: Greener (TS sim) --> 6505 head] --> [Cab IR: GuitarHack Fredman Straight -20] -> Pan 96% R

I know it's not perfect. My biggest issue is the bass. I couldn't blend guitars & bass nicely. Something annoys me, maybe because I've been searching for a punchy thrash sound instead of a low beefy tone.

Cheers, UnF
