I've lived there, grew up there actually, in the High Point/Winston-Salem area and if i go stay with my uncle i'd be in Rockingham. Do you know how much of a shit town that place is?!?!?!

well... yeah, but every state has shit towns. i grew up more to the west, in the hickory area. nice town, not too big, not too small. getting a bit crowded, though...

i now attend UNC and i love it. i love the triangle area, even if it has about 50 billion people in it (30 billion of those being college students)

Yea but MAN, it's NASCAR/COUNTRY MUSIC TERRITORY! *shudder* the job market is shit also among other things.... I think Chapel Hill is like hmm... an hour or 2 from Rockingham, i've been through there before a long time ago

Just bought "rapture" from Redstream thus completing my Unholy collection. I need to check out Esatic Fear mentioned earlier in this thread...Reivews on doom-metal.com sound promsing :Spin:

Ya, both Estatic Fear albums are great. They are by no means funeral doom. The yare very hard to describe. Picture a lot of elements of doom, classical structure, black and death with a female vocalist and male growler. Beautiful, epic music.

By the way, I read today that A. Tolonen (from Nest) will be playing the Kantele on the next SoD album, and I'm not sure if anyone likes this instrument, but he is a master of his craft. I can't even begin to imagine how great funeral doom could sound with the Kantele instrument involved.
Ya, I heard the same thing. It is going to be killer.

I have a funeral doom solo project in the planning stages. Just you wait, heh.
Meh, I recorded a three-minute demo of what probably is to be the first song, complete with improvisation and major fuck-ups on the guitar... and borrowed placeholder lyrics from Evoken :p

Anyway... If anyone wants to hear what I'm doing. I think it'll be decent when done. Feedback is appreciated.

If anyone cares, Esoteric's first two albums have been repressed, with the debut having been remastered as well.

Esoteric's first two albums are now available at Red Stream for $15 each.

They also have Catacombs' debut MCD (30 minutes, two songs; limited to 500 copies) for only $10.

Might have already said this : Dreamlord , check out Monolithe's 'I', excellent doom/funeral doom

It's one of the best I've ever heard ( though i'm quite a F.Doom noob but whatever.. )

the comparison to Diembowelment got me interested. I love the Disembowelment album. I never knew it sells for $30 on eBay, since I bought it for $1.50
