All you black metal fans better not forget about Strength and Anger.

Honestly im still wondering whether I should give this album the 10th spot on my list. It would probably have squeaked in if it werent for the fadeouts, but otherwise the album would be too samey. Love this album, but tbh I think it is a bit overhyped among BM types (probably because of all the hate everyone else gives it).

God I've never gotten Kvist, maybe I should revisit.

Tulus rules though, and what a striking album cover that album has! ;)

Great year for metal, not sure what the feck you guys are on about. For a bunch of people that complain about UM being a traditional metal/black metal circle jerk, you sure do seem to only like 2 genres of music yourselves.

Anyways:
  1. Scald - Will of the Gods is Great Power
  2. Bathory - Blood on Ice
  3. Abscess - Seminal Vampires and Maggot Men
  4. Gravedigger - Tunes of War
  5. Cryptopsy - None So Vile
  6. Solitude Aeturnus - Downfall
  7. Gothic Knights - Gothic Knights
  8. Slough Feg - Slough Feg
  9. Immolation - Here in After
  10. Vomitory - Raped in Their Own Blood

Nice with some Blood on Ice-appreciation!

The lack of Bathory-worship (beyond the bm-releases) on this board is disturbing.

So stop fucking whining then, if that's the case.

I'll get right on that

Not numbered yet, but I will do it before this is closed:

Acid Bath - Paegan Terrorism Tactics
Corrosion of Conformity - Wiseblood
James Murphy - Convergence
Type O Negative - October Rust
Deeds of Flesh - Trading Pieces
Opeth - Morningrise
Monstrosity - Millenium
Iced Earth - The Dark Saga
Sepultura - Roots/Pantera - The Great Southern Trendkill
In Flames - The Jester Race

Leaving Burzum off because that's an automatic lock for the Top 3

edit: forgot about:

Carcass - Swansong
Adramelech - Psychostasia
Cannibal Corpse - Vile
The Chasm - From the Lost Years...
Incubus - Serpent Temptation
Amorphis - Elegy
Dying Fetus - Purification Through Violence
Frank Klepacki - Command and Conquer: Red Alert soundtrack
Cenotaph - Epic Rites: 9 Epic Tales & Death Rites
Immolation - Here in After

Lots of listening to do

My favorite from 1996 can't be included though :-(

I would agree if you were talking about the rest of his discography, but that album is fucking excellent. There's a similarity to the tracks, but i would argue it's a strength; it creates a "hall of mirrors" effect that exemplifies the hate the album centers upon.
