Macabre Omen and Kawir.



I like it a lot but I don't think it quite reaches that level of massiveness that the rest of their records did. It did give us "Cromwell" though.

I'm definitely going to revisit that Macabre Omen album. I just don't remember enjoying it as much as Gods of War - At War. I've never checked out that Kawir album actually. I've only heard their Ophiliakdsjfakjfkla album and beyond. Isotheos is so fucking good though.

I'd recommend listening to Darkness Eternal's - Misanthropic Annihilation for this year if you have not. It's very Chasm-y and it's also fucking awesome.

Looks like I'll have to skip this round. But I will check out Othyrworld (or what's available of it on youtube) - judging by the songtitles, it looks mostly like a re-recording of "Of the Sun and Moon".

Pretty crappy year. Looking through almost every sub-genre I see releases by bands that I like, but usually what I consider one of their mid-tier or low-tier releases. The only great release of the year was Deathspell Omega's Kenose EP:
