Red and Discipline are defo tops, but Islands and Lizard come close for me. Still haven't gotten around to hearing Starless & Bible Black though. Poseidon and Construkkktion are the only ones that are actually bad.

Hmm SABB is an essential KC purchase of course, and it's wonderful! Jazzy, proggy, has long sections which is what KC do. It's mostly made up of live preformances. Red and Discipline and Island and the brilliant Lizard are amazing. l like Poseidon just as much as ITCOTKC But my favourite KC has got to be Lark's Tongue in Aspic

i actually like 'stairway to heaven' a lot more than 'in the court of the crimson king', which i'd imagine is blasphemy around here.

What are your thoughts on Discipline crimsonfloyd? That was their last really good album in my opinion.

Discipline is Discipline. There's nothing quite like it. Nobody was going to challenge Elephant Talk after Elephant Talk

It's listed as a best selling jazz LP in Billboard, Aug 1970, and this catalog says 1970 too. I think RYM got it right.

Seems bizarre that the label that put out the record is Californian but the sole pressing claiming to be released in 1969 is a Canadian pressing by the same label. Either it's a mistake and the album is indeed a 1970 album or for some reason the label sent a pile of LPs to Canada to be released earlier than in their own country.
