So this is the non-metal equivalent of @no country for old wainds' game, if this first game doesn't become a hit I probably won't continue it so think of this as a pilot episode. :D

Obviously make sure to hit up RYM yourself and search your favourite genres maybe? It's going to be difficult for some of you and I don't see there being enough overlap of choices to even come up with an end list, but persevere.

The deadline is 2nd of January 2018.

The rules:
- submit at least 5 releases.
- first place in your rankings gets 10 points, 2nd gets 9, etcetc, 10th gets 1.
- feel free to post more than 10, but only the top 10 will get points.
- feel free to post less than 10, the same scoring will apply.
- feel free not to rank your picks, in which case all ten picks will get 5.5 points.

GNMD = General Non-Metal Discussion, so NO METAL ALBUMS are to be included in anybody's list.

Also, no movie soundtracks.

Yeah, I have a feeling this will take some time for people to get into it, give a shit about it enough to go through so many different genres and stuff. If it works, the next year's deadline will be shorter.

i only just noticed what forum this is in ha. i would've probably gone for the social forum, this is basically dead and i don't think i've checked it once in about ten years.

Not sure they'd make any list I might do but what about
AC/DC - Powerage
Van Halen - Van Halen
Alice Cooper - From The Inside
Ramones - Road To Ruin

Anyone going to call those metal?

Not sure if I can participate, I barely find time for the metal polls as it is. At least the deadline is generous, so maybe.

I'm willing to be flexible with the deadline also, so it can be pushed back further for any stragglers. Doing non-metal is pretty difficult and perhaps hard to generate enough passion to bang out a list in time so there's no need for me to be a douche about it.

Great year to kick things off on.

1. Rush - Hemispheres
2. Devo - Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!
3. Kate Bush - The Kick Inside
4. Funkadelic - One Nation Under a Groove
5. Penetration - Moving Targets
6. Peter Hammill - The Future Now
7. Elvis Costello - This Year's Model
8. Chaka Khan - Chaka
9. Ryuichi Sakamoto - Thousand Knives of Ryuichi Sakamoto
10. Quazar - Quazar

Probably subject to change. I don't usually evaluate albums of different genres against each other, so I feel like 5 through 10 could almost just as easily be flipped around.
