Throwing this out early; are we counting Suicidal Tendencies' debut? It's basically a skate punk hardcore album but it could be controversial.

I'll add it to the docket. Haven't listened to much of theirs at all, and what I have is just their earliest industrial stuff.

I've only heard "Institutionalized", but I've put that album on my playlist. It's got an 87-87 lock for the "Crossover Thrash" tag, and apparently it was the most recent "against" vote that got rid of it. It was issues like this that made me amend the OP to say "NO UNAMBIGOUSLY METAL ALBUMS".
