I agree, I don't understand peoples obsession with threads like name the band because after 50 billlion the band has already been named 10,000 times.

The good topics always disappear after 20 or so responses.

Chat and SOT suck. The only worthwhile conversation going on right now is in General Music Discussion. The reason the good topics go away after 20 or so posts is because most people can't think of any good or intelligent responses to the interesting topics. For example, in GMD I started a thread about atavistic tendencies in metal and I got maybe 23-24 worthwhile responses. Then, some genius decided to post "white power" and it sort of degenerated into a discussion about racism.
