MIDI stuttering? Sounds like you have a weak computer brah, upgradez.

Also GP is poorly written, which is why it gets gay errors all the time. I want to buy the crap since i use it a lot, but i refuse to buy the current version as its dog shit in performance, i'm waiting for the(possibly vaporware) next version, GP6, which they stated in the FAQ to be working on... in 2005...

Dude it works great in the beginning, but it starts to stutter when I have ran programs/games. It gets worse over time.

And I don't think that GP is THAT system demanding.

2,10 Ghz
GeForce 8500GT
2gb DDR2 RAM
Plenty of HD space left

I bought my PC for 14k NOK 4 years ago (including monitor)

2.1ghz single core? thats medieval age for a desktop, but no it shouldnt stutter because of that. But before and after gaming you should ideally restart your computer to flush out all the crap thats leftover, especially on an older system as yours

Same thing happened to me on my old comp. Now I have a new descent one, no problems whatsoever, besides iTunes hating pretty much any audio program like GP or youtube

Muffin, it's dual core, cant really remember every small detail, but I can remember it being dual core and something x64.

Also I wouldn't want to reboot after every game session, as it takes ages to start up. I need to reformat it.

I was thinking... Ain't there any programs that can flush out all the crap to make GP go good after every game session?

Well if its dual then thats way better.

Yes you need to reformat it.

And not really, nothing works as good as a reboot, some people might recommend you a memory defragger or something, but theyre just gimmicks, they dont work and are just a waste of resources, unless you have like 96mb ram on a XP system.

Yeah, I need to reformat, but the problem with GP lagging up after time is still there. Reformatted my main PC hundreds of times.

And yes, a reboot is the best option. Would probably go 9001 times faster when I reformat.

Thanks man for the hlepz :)

Especially if you use TuneXP, tweak XP hard and you'll restart in no time! ;)

Speaking of which, i'll do that just now and play some Arma 2 :kickass:

know Sibelius? it's pretty badass

@Muffen: I tried TuneXP when you posted the link! Was pretty neat, shutdown went alot faster, but I don't think my bootup went especially faster. I'll try it again since I started getting shitty lag in games (because of change of intarbutts), then got new modem (old one broke), problem still there. But now it's fixed:D

@Vikk: That looks neat. Is it GP file compatible?

Hey, does anyone happen to know what a full re-tube would cost for a 5150 II? I found a great deal on a used one in almost pristine condition, but it's had the tubes replaced for ones I've never even heard of but are apparently "military grade", and don't sound all that great to me. Personally, I'd prefer 6l6's in there. Still, money is tight and I have no idea what this would cost.

I actually don't know all that much about amp workings, so I'm not familiar with what the options are as far as that goes. All I really know of are El34's and 6l6's, with the former being more British-y and vintage, the latter being more West Coast-y and modern. That's the impression I'm under anyway, in my limited knowledge. What would you suggest? I like the Gothenburg tones that a lot of those bands got from them, like early IF for instance. No idea what tubes they used though.

Also, the other thing I was curious/wary about is that the guy selling it told me that it's a 5150 II. However, I noticed that there was no "II" next to the 5150. When I asked about that he said it was because it's the EVH signature, which supposedly came out a bit later, is basically the same thing, but doesn't have the II on it. I'm no expert on them (yet, at least, I'm hoping) so I have no idea if he's speaking the truth on that.
