Musician's Thread

Play classical and jazz piano/organ, though I'm on a hiatus currently. Also produce hiphop/pop tracks with Pro Tools and Reason 5. I can also play some bass and drums.

Here is a picture of me playing my Jackson DXMG at practice a while ago. Also, Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn.

Thanks dude. My buddy's running into the second channel there, he's using a computer synth. We are playing a track together live this Saturday and may be doing more. Haven't decided if I want it to be a solo set or collab/new project(?).

I'm quite taken by the Christmas wrap

Edit: At Master_Yoda77. Stupid new page

That used to happen to me all time....always gotta check :p

I play in art galleries, underground venues, practice spaces and stuff.

Rad, I'd love to play music in an art gallery or something. I'm sure it still happens, but back in the day jazz musicians as well as modern composers had lofts in the city (NY, Boston etc.) and held shows there and that was where shit was happening...I'd love to be in on some sort of thing like that.

Yep, I've actually read a lot about stuff like that. John Cage and other people were doing it. I don't have a loft or anything but I am somewhat known by people around Boston who put on shows or at least could be connected fairly easily to shows in MA as a state, I just haven't played out a lot in a few years.

You should come play the Upstate Artists Guild via Albany Sonic Arts Collective in Albany. It'd be cool to see a decent out-of-towner to break up the same 5 guys playing (and attending) near-every show.

Your setup looks very similar to mine, with various pedal differences ... And also reminds me that I forgot to get new contact mics from my friend yesterday. Oops. Oh well, hopefully I see him again before I leave town. I dig your iPod noise synth, though. I'm always looking for bigger, better noise-making devices but I've never thought about a phone/iPod app.

Maybe it's all irrelevant though since I plan to start experimenting with things entirely based on layers of feedback... Delicious, delicious layers of feedback (Hardcore Mark Solotroff style).
