Guitar Player's Thread

Thanks for the replies guys. As for the trying thing, there's no way I can try an RR24, as there are no such guitars in the stores here in Mtl. The guitar I tried was a Jackson V, I didn't check the specific model, I just wanted to see if I was comfortable with the shape of the guitar.

The tuning thing kinda bugs me, but I guess I'll keep my other shitty guitar for other tunings XD. I have a question here. Just switching drop Drop C to Full step down does count?

And is it possible to change the stripes? Because I think pinstripes are sexier and jackson doesn't offer them with the RR24.

For the Jackson Stars, it's quite nice, but I'm not fond of the finishes om eBay. Yeah, the esthetic of the guitar is fucknig important for me hehe :) I guess I'm a picky a-hole too. And there are no EMG's O_O.

I believe gettign a custom axe wouldn't be a smart idea, as I don't know shit about what I like and what I don't like from a guitar, and I wouldn't want to end up buying a $5000 custom guitar and finally not liking it for one thing I chose thatwas wrong, you know. I'd rather wait and see how my preferences go using other guitars.

and I dont have any process pics yet because my dep isnt complete yet i have 1500 down of 2000 once 2000 is paid they will send the order in AND it will be built when the next production run starts at Jackson

im going for a Rhoads, 24 fret, original floyd rose, EMG 81 with a Jackson Sustanic System, 9V battery cavity, ebony fingerboard, mop inlays and logo, gold hardware, white bevel pinstripes (the tiny ones on the very end of the sides), Alder Body, shaved neck for speed, painted neck not oiled, single volume knob (that can be pushed up or down to active or deactive the sustanic system)

anything else? ROFL thats all i can think of off hand since im at work and dont have my specs sheet handy

Okay dont laugh but I sold all my gear about a year ago for tuition money ROFLMAO
im just getting back into the swing of things because of that! But I plan on after I have my guitar to upgrade to all high end stuff, pedals, amps, preamps, ETC

You have a fucking USA Alexi pink sawtooh!

True, but... the AL Pink was the only guitar with 24 frets, FR, unpainted neck, V shape, and a large cutaway that I liked. I actually bought a Jackson Soloist SL2H first, then returned it, and was just about ready to buy an LTD M-1000. Then just happened to go with the AL. Fanboy? Perhaps... but I got the guitar for $950 with the case on ebay and to this day I don't regret it. Still seems like a good deal for the specs I got and price I paid  By the way, the unpainted neck is a HUGELY important factor for me. It honestly makes the guitar feel far superior to a simple LTD when I'm holding it in my hands and playing it.

guys, whats the best fucking Machine head around? that won't go out of tune even if i fucking kick it the teeth?

what's a Jackson Sustanic system? How does that effect your pickup?

I think a sustanic system are those pickups where the magnetic field generate a longer tone on your strings. Ah shit, I can't explain anything technical in english :) On the CRY DVD Roope had one of those pickups in on of his guitars where he hit a string and the tone didn't stop. Well... look here http://www.sustainiac.com/ :)

But bodomite... one 9v battery isn't enough I think. With a sustaniac pu in your guitar the battery will be empty really fast. Better would be 2 batterys or rechargeable batterys (like the battery of a digi cam or sth.)

I have a question for you guys.

I'm planning on buying a Jackson Rhoads RR24 (http://www.jacksonguitars.com/products/products.php?group=Rhoads-Body&page=1&product=2913024858)

I have that same guitar in white, and I do love it, and it sounds great, but Jackson seems to be cheaping out with their hardware now days. That isn't actually an Original Floyd Rose on it, and I've only had my guitar for maybe... 2 years or so I think, and my fretwire is already grinded down as fuck. It really depresses me because I really do like the guitar and all, but I don't see it being a guitar that will last another 2 or 3 years. Maybe 11's are what is tearing up my fretwire, idk, but I've got some hardcore wear on my frets.

Wow that sucks! Well, solid way to go back into things a CS Jackson is  Nice for you!

Hey, I'm not criticising your guitar, I actually played it once and liked it, I'm just saying that you (or me as matter of fact) are not the best one to call fanboi alert on someone
