That we should do a collaboration on a song? Person A - Record/program drums, Person B - Rhythm Guiitars, Person c - Lead e.t.c Then Person F - Mixing, Person G - Mastering e.t.c In the words of neon bob " yay or gay " ?

I've been thinking of this for a while. I would love to get involved. Once I get a good recording tone going and got the hang of the whole DAW thing I was going to request doing this. I think it would be awesome especially if it turns out really cool. After all there is alot of great talent here so I see no reason why it shouldn't turn out really cool. So yay for me.

The people on the Necrophagist actually wrote a song in Guitarpro but it never went further than that. I think it could be a great idea since most people on here have access to pretty sweet recording software/hardware.

Problem will be: you need a producer/decisionmaker who will decide what riffs to take an what to drop and so on ...

Composing would be way more fun and interesting imo.
No ballads! hehe. It's gotta kick some ass.
I think the best way would be for a solo guitar track(s) to be presented first as a full length pre written song.
We could to take it one riff at a time but that would be more time consuming.
Or a drummer could just record something (with a click of course) that has the frame of a song first and we could take it from there.

Actually Neon Bob and I are working on a collaboration piece together right now. I sent over a really rough riff idea. He polished it up and put some kick ass grooves on it and sent it back. Now I have it playing in my car daily getting some ideas for some vocals. It is slow going because both of our schedules are very busy but we agreed at the get go that it was a zero pressure project. I feel lucky to have have him as a collab partner because his mixes and talent are top notch and I'm learning a ton! I highly recommend finding a jam-pal. We'll post it when it's done!
