Has anyone ever thought?..

Ya, I think that there are too many players to complete anything effectively. I would say go for the "Road Runner" theory of 4-5 person teams with a team lead. That way you could also have a little competition to spur things along.:rock:
 
Yeah, but if it all goes well, let's do some other stuff. I wanna write some lyrics, but I always end up with really morbid gothic stuff or cheesy death metal stuff, both of which I don't think will fit this first song.
 
Isnt really a song yet, the riffs i've recorded and musickey arent the be all end all of the song. No doubt it'll change alot the further it progresses and yeah, if all goes welll, theres no reason why we cant make other songs.
 
for guitars we need to be tuned to drop c, and have a DI signal recorded as well with the input/output set to a spacific range like -3db or such. That way we can re-amp the trax later and they will be at an even kill volume wise, make it a whole lot easer to mix!

We need a standard as far as levels and tuning to be solidified so others can work on riffs.
So tuning has already been addressed = drop C
Record you DI signal at -3db unless someone thinks it needs to be more

How about getting your toes wet with a cover song instead of trying to organize a dozen people writing different parts of an original on top of trying to organize all the recording and mixing? You know, eaaaase in to it. :)

Now I've heard Musickey's and Familia's riffs. Fuckin baddass!!!:kickass: Musickey, yours is just right on the fuckin money with the drums. Fuckin Corpse style! Brutal! On the other hand, my version, I sluffed through the mid section, but I kinda dig the intro riff and the last riff. Totally different, but maybe a riff or two will make the cut.:heh: , cheers!:kickass:

Had a listen to Musickey's and Familia's riffs to date....dig 'em. Bass lines shouldn't be too much of a problem once we've some consensus on riffs for different sections we're going for. Came up with a simple but effective line for to work with Familia's riff very quickly....will record that sucker and a few other ideas either tomorrow night or Saturday daytime and post it.
 
I purposely kept my riffs simple to begin with, like i said at the beginning of the thread, i'd like to build on the song as we go but keep it simple at first. I mean, i love what you've done musickey but i cant make out what the hell youre playing :D

Looking forward to it dude, just note that these riffs arent set in concrete yet, until we have a solid drum track to work from.

Edit: Downloaded, will give it a afew listens along with musickeys and perhaps work on some more drum programming as noone else is going to. :waah:
