I suppose that means we will have to make more threads with substance. I can live with this. I will even help. But I don't mind some of the pointless ones, they can be good for a laugh.

a lot of the older people don't post anymore because they already posted their opinions in some previous threads, for example the one about books or various music threads. it just gets boring for those who have been here longer, unless they start to look for new discussion stuff. sadly really good topics are hard to find, so everyone (including me of course) tends to post nonsense topics in order to fill the gap. this is quite amusing for some time, but eventually even this will get boring, and what's next? either peolpe just leave or start to offend each other. it's been the way with many other forums, chat rooms and such i've been on. i came here when it all was just right, and i loved posting all day long. now for me the usual topics are exthausted and i keep myself from posting unless i really have something to say.
building up rules surely is the wrong idea, but everyone should think about his/her posting beviour and what it makes of this forum.

I'm not trying to limit the scope of the discussions. I'm just noting that most of the threads are crap. Humorous banter, thought-provoking questions, engaging discussions etc are always welcome whether the topic is elephants, religion, "let's bomb Germany" or whatever you will. I'm just bored with most of the shit that's posted here.
Maybe demographix in this place change rather rapidly. Or maybe we've exhausted most interesting topics.
