Why does it seem that most Opeth fans are also fans of Porcupine Tree? I have tried to listen to two different Porcupine Tree cd's and I cannot get through them. What am I missing?
 
Dunno... Maybe childhood in home where everybody listens to progressive rock bands (Pink Floyd, Yes, etc.) and electronic music (Oldfield, Vangelis, Jarre, Kitaro).

Because most Opeth-fan(atic)s would listen to anything that mr Mikael Åkerfeldt likes?

I think it's because many people here are interested in progressive rock in general (and Opeth has some prog influence)...
