horror movie hoe-down!!!

Wow. I'll be picking that up right quick. The Wicker Man = Top 5 movie fo' sho'

Have you seen Part 2? It's really not bad. Not all that good, but perfectly decent.

Took my time a couple of days ago to watch "The Cabin In the Woods" which were horrible. I'm out of ideas and can't really find any good horror movies anymore. Anyone who have some good advice for some horror movies? And I'm a horror movie freak so I've probably seen most things but anyway... Let me know some good movies.

I am a fanatic, what haven't you seen? Modern Japan? French? Old Italian? 70s American?

I've never really checked out some japan, french, Italian and I don't even know what movies comes from there but I've seen from the old classic to the most weird and horrible movies. Just looking for some tips to see if it's something I've seen or not.

Didn't know such a thing existed. Does it have bees in it?

....I assume everyone here knows/loves the soundtrack (especially "Willow's Song," GOT DAYUM!!!!), but who knows these days

There's a lot you haven't seen then. I keep saying it, but that Rue Morgue 200 Alternative Horror Films magazine (this thingy) I picked up has been fantastic to go through. I recommend finding that. And I also adore Netflix for finding rad shit. Some people follow the rabbit down the hole on YouTube, I say fuck that, give me 2 hours and an empty Netflix queue.

NOT THE BEES! The original director made the film. It's up and down, but enjoyable. Solid mood! Plus Christopher Lee is in it for 5 minutes.

The music in The Wicker Man is the best. Even the cheesy stuff fuckin' rules. I've introduced that movie to loads of people and everyone seems to love it. Pretty sure JayK turned me onto it...

I'm going to go off that list to make it easier, the first 20 are kinda garbage though. You are probably going to hve to torrent/spend money on amazon to find most of these, I did but it's worth it if you did the style

A Bay of Blood
Carnival of Souls
Cemetary Man (I don't dig it, but most think its a cult classic)
Dead Alive
Dracula (Christopher Lee/Bela Lugosi flicks)
Ginger Snaps(not a bad one)
The House of the Devil
Inside (Frenchie modern)
Martyrs (Frenchies)
Phantasm
Prince of Darkness (Carpenter has a trilogy with in the mouth of madness and I forget the third one)

Wow that list sucks but if you've seen most of that, let me know and i'll actually spend some time referring you to some goodies. The best are the italian horror/giallos in late 60s to late 70s..anything but Dario Argento or Lucio Fulci in that time period is cinema gold, as far as i'm concerned.

Trick 'R Treat is one of my favorite horror movies of the last few years. Mostly because it's one of only a handful to let Halloween take center stage. OG Wicker Man is a god tier movie. Remake Wicker Man is a god tier lets drink and laugh at this shitty movie movie. Bear suit punch ftw

Giallo movies are f'n ace too. The Bird with the Crystal Plumage and Deep Red ftwwwwww

And this weekend I watched Pieces, Slugs, A Real Friend, and A Christmas Tale. All enjoyable to varying degrees. Slugs was the best one overall.

EDIT: Also went to the Los Angeles Screamfest on Sunday and watched The Demon's Rook. I loved the fuck out of this movie but it could have been about 15 minutes shorter.

The Thing! Best thing ever! My 3rd favoUrite horror film.

I love all things Argento. I need to see more Fulci.

Dead Alive is revoltingly awesome. The orgy scene defies beyond believable.

Martyrs is a work of art. Very uncomfortable and brilliant in every way. I probably won't watch it a second time.

I've been watching the first Phantasm movie for over 20 years and have probably seen it 400 times. It still doesn't make any god damn sense, but who cares?

I can't think of any great ones I've seen lately, but horror movies are always worth watching, good, bad, genius, or terrible. Fun times all the times.

Has anyone else seen Black Christmas? I probably mentioned that earlier in this thread, and a discussion ensued, but I'm too lazy to click back. I loved that one.

If you want to try some Japanese horror I recommend Kiyoshi Kurosawas films. He's one of my favs. Also, Shion Sono.
