horror movie hoe-down!!!

maybe this should be in the 2013 tours thread, but i feel like it belongs here...

caught legendary horror film soundtrackers GOBLIN last night in san francisco, and it was fucking fantastic. played all their hits from susperia, dawn of the dead, deep red, plus more i havent seen yet and some songs from their non-soundtrack albums. they are in LA for the next several nights and continuing to tour after that. go see em if you're into this shit, they sounded fucking perfect.

I watched Insidious just now. Saw was okay, The Conjuring had no conjuring, but this was good.

Also I watched The Cabin in the Woods a second time. That movie still rules. All of you are wrong.*

Mainstream modern horror done right. Neither one perfect, but both were highly enjoyable, indeed.

Oh and Young Frankenstein. Cinematic perfection, beginning to end. Even without boobs, amazing.

*And by wrong I mean that our opinions differ, both of which are still equally valid, even today.

The Skeleton Key. It's fun and has a decent story and a dark ending that I didn't expect. Kate Hudson looks delicious.

The Skeleton Key is a good movie. Speaking of New Orleans and black magic, the new season of American Horror Story is pretty cool so far. It seems more lighthearted than the previous seasons, but it is still quite watchable thus far.

Is this any good?

I was reading about that one recently. It's a remake, right? Oh, "re-imagining" as it says right there, duh. It sounds good. I'll watch both eventually.

I fell asleep to The Shining last night. It's so much god damn cooler on Blu Ray, what with the full widescreen. Very fancy.

I watched Black Death which was excellent, and World War Z which was good.

Tonight is Halloween III, as is tradition, and probably Lair of the White Worm.

Long story short, I actually really like The Haunting in Connecticut. Last week, I saw The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia on Netflix. What a horrible title. If it's in Georgia, why throw Connecticut in there? Stupid. A few minutes in, I was almost sure I'd turn it off. The acting at that point seemed bad, the camera was shaky, and overall it seemed like it was going to be shitty. But...it turned out to be a pretty f'ed up story, and the bad ghost causing all the trouble is really, really nasty. I actually really liked it.

American Horror Story Asylum is on Netfux
I've watched 3 episodes already today....and I'm at work

I normally don't get excited for sequels, in fact most of the time I flat out loathe so much as the concept. But this? This gives me a big, shiny, sphere-shaped and blood-spurting erection.
