Really, I think every Opeth (mellow) song is beautiful. HOW is superb. GR has Opeth's best guitar playing. The addition of keys just fills it out. Great album.

I've done that on occasion with some of my stuff. It's rare, but every so often, you just hit that take. I'm not surprised at all that Mike hit it in one take. It's a fabulous song and it draws you in immediately. Once I can nail down the chords for the end, I'll be covering it.
HOW in my opinon is the best mellow song they have ever wrote other than To Bid You Farewell.

i don't like that song at all. definitely the worst one on GR. the acoustic guitar intro is ok, but i can't stand the latter part.

yeah, sorry i cant help feel that way about this song at present. The intro is fantastic (the solo is nice too), but as soon as the vocals start i cant stand it. Its not his ability im disputing, its the style i just dont like.

lol. Benighted is by far their best mellow song. The fact that no-one here likes it is proof of that. Face of Melinda, To Bid you Farewell don't come close to it (nor are they truly "mellow"), not to mention both are extremely boring and way too long. And all of Opeths songs rip off Camel so how is that a valid argument?
