I bought a new car (the "I wanna be like Gugs" thread)...

ABS...hmmm...I'd almost rather have it and slide right into a ditch than have a computer determine when and how I'm going to use the brakes.

OR I COULD SLOW DOWN

decided to turn down the saab. one hell of a sweet car but the payment is not something i want to deal with for the next 5 or 6 years. if something bad happened with it i would have to go to a dealership and pay out of my anus. after being so used to my 1991 940, having that many computers in the 9-3 was honestly giving me anxiety hahahaha. going to look at a v70 (SWEDEN'S FAVORITE VOLVO) later on, wish me luck.

@ Aurel
Yeah, I saw that. lol @ the CEO's Lotus reference though
Nice looking car though. I'd buy one......if I could get the specter of the Excel out of my memory. That, and my next car will be a real one.

Hmm....probably for the best

this.

try to get a certified pre-owned Volvo from the dealer with warranty. God knows their resale values are horrible so you could get a few year old model for like half price of new.

isn't a v70 just as computerized as a 9-3 though

i'd wager it's about an order of magnitude more reliable than the saab though if history has shown us anything

eh i mean i suppose it is technically, but i was referring to the fact that there are approximately 50 buttons on the dashboard of the 9-3 I was driving. seems a little extreme to me, i've always been a fan of the simple designs.

my buddy has had a v70 for something like 6 or 7 years now. he got it used and it has 150k on it now... never had a single problem.

yeah Saab had some crazy ass buttons all over the cockpit in the mid 90's. they did come from an aviation background afterall

the MINI by far the most convoluted dashboard/center console, the new generation models anyway (07-)

my wife still can't change the stations from the passenger seat. it rules.
