I bought a new car (the "I wanna be like Gugs" thread)...

What I really freaking love is the new Audi A7 ... what a gorgeous car!
Never was a big Audi drooler before but this one got me.

Priced right too for what you get ... just not priced right for my pocket.

I asked a dude what he is asking for his 1990 Porsche 964 with 89,000 miles.

$27,500

Guess I won't be buying a 911 EVER

if you buy a used one it won't depreciate much over a few years. whatever it costs.
enjoy it for some time and then resell it. betcha you won't lose much if anything over a few years.
cars like that don't depreciate fast.

do it!

I was thinking the same thing about depreciation but goddam....a 21 year old car for about the price of a brand new 3 series? Crazy.
I don't have that kind of cash flow right now anyway. I was seriously thinking he'd say something like $17k. I guess I have no idea what the market is for these things....the air-cooled ones seem to have reached collectible status. For comparison, I found a 2001 water-cooled 911 with about 100 more horsepower, less miles, for LESS money.

lol, I know. I've been reading up on the 996. Let the rich "purists" keep the prices of the air-cooled cars out of my reach. As actual vehicles, the cars from 1999 and up are far superior in every way. Now I just need $26,000.

So what if it's as big as a Subaru and costs as much? You'll never have to trade this in! This is gonna be with you for the rest of your life! And when you die, they can BURY you in it!

Are there any vehicles left that can seat three child safety seats across one row? Even in our fairly large Accord, there's just a tiny spot left between my two existing monkeys. There's no way I could fit a third one in there. If you have three children, is a van a must-have? That kinda blows. Although, vans are pretty awesome....I just don't want to pay a premium for one if I can have a sedan instead.

I forgot to mention my recent rental of a Silverado Crew Cab. It was badass. Rode like a Cadillac (not that I've ever driven a Cadillac). It made me think of our resident giant here because it seemed like there were another two feet between my head and the roof and I'm 6'. Lurch: time to trade the Mini in on a real vehicle :loco:
