wow, i didn't realize that they stopped selling the straight up v70 here in the states. i see used ones for sale very frequently out here. volvo wagons are extremely popular in new england. like you said, they usually are just too used or beat up.

before i got my focus, i almost got a used xc70 (2006) with 105k. when i went to seal the deal, the guy had sold the car just minutes before. when i went back a few days later to look at an s80 (garbage) the xc70 was back for repairs already

i drive one of these sometimes and it's so fucking deaaaaaad

NOTHING HAPPENS EVER when you press the accelerator, it's like a 745 but almost worse

i have never once found a volvo "fun" to drive, i don't know enough about engines to explain it but absolutely SHIT happens before you get up to highway speeds. i have a big ass wagon with a 1.8 l 90 hp engine and i can at least rev it a bit and get some speed out of it while city drivin' but these fucking volvos man. who wants cars to behave like this? is it supposed to be a safety feature to be intentionally SLOW?

i think the biggest thing that annoys me about most SUV/big car drivers is the way they come to crawl encountering the slightest road imperfections on paved streets.

i was actually going to add "(and no good black metal)" to the sentence about cars but then i realized many of my favz are later (1993-ish)

also i'm pretty sure 1992 is the cut-off point that popped into my mind because that was the year i stopped caring about cars and started caring about SUPER NINTENDO

then i started vaguely caring about cars again once i bought one, but everything newer than what the 7 year old me knew seems tasteless, overengineered and complicated

the focus is not working for me. going to trade it in for a 2009 civic coupe with 29,000 miles. $250/month, very affordable. seems like a good idea to me... the car will probably last forever.

a subaru wagon would be fuckin great, but they are way out of my price range. my girlfriend has a big suzuki SUV now so at least we have one car for toting shit around. mine basically just has to get me to work.
