I bought a new car (the "I wanna be like Gugs" thread)...

the XT was such an amazing piece of engineering....how could anyone *not* consider it the best car ever?

Speaking of cars, I love this XC90. It's so goddam comfortable. I hope Volvo is still around when it dies so I can just buy another one.

possibly ... but from what I hear there might also be a fire sale of remaining new vehicles which there are just 1600 in the US?!?!? (hard to imagine that low a number)

with GM "possibly" picking up the warranty if they are sold.

man, if the new 95 goes for like half price that would be awesome.

haha looks like i'm fucked. bad time to buy a newer saab. nah it's all good, i know a lot of independent mechanics who specialize in volvo/saab so i'm not worried. if there are only 1600 new saabs in the US, then there are like 50-60 of them at the Guilford, CT dealership. so if you guys want one, come on down

from what i understand, gm still has to honour a contract to keep producing/distributing replacement parts for the foreseeable future

and theres already a trillion million parts for every saab

even if this is the definite end, i wouldn't worry about buying or owning a saab for the next 20 years or so

yeah I wouldn't either ... i would seriously consider one asap if some ridiculous price drop happens on new ones.

the 95 and the 93 wagon as well ...

I know that you're saying this in reference to the older models (which is totally true) but heres a funny story...

As some of you may remember, I was going to buy this car like a year before I actually did. I'm glad I waited, because the air conditioner broke just in time for summer. The dealership straight up told my boss that they couldn't get the part, that the part was also unavailable from Sweden and that basically it was impossible to fix. Well he called and bitched to saab for so long that they literally resorted to buying the fucking thing on eBay. When the dealer says this to you, that's gotta be a bad sign. It's a 2006! At least I bought it after a $4000 60k service. I feel good about it.

FFFOOOOUUUUURRRR THOOOOUUUUSSSSAAAND DOLLLLAAARRRS?! Is replacing the entire engine part of the 60k service?

HMM

i wonder if it's a usa-specific part, and as such, rarer

because that sounds really weird, i mean i don't think you realize how many saabs are on the road in sweden, they're VERY COMMON and a/c breaks down all the time, so shit like that wouldn't fly

i could buy a brand new saab 9-5 for 4000 dollars (soon (in america))

this new Fusion seems to win on all levels ... killer fuel economy too for a pretty large size car
