i hate the phone, but talking to a new chick for like 3 hours straight is pretty cool

back to the whole gym thing...

I HAVE been to the gym, lots... but it was always while I was going to phsyiotherapy. (for the 3 dislocated shoulders, fractured kneecap and the torn ligmanets in my other knee, the pulled hip flexer and torn calf muscle in my left leg)

I had very specific excercise routines I had to follow, but I took advantage of my time there to do some extras (lower body while the shoudlers were pooched and upper body while my knees were borked.)

So when i say I hate the inside air and such, it's not an asumption, it's because i've been there and I hated it... or maybe it's because I hated the gym because I subconciously relate it to my biking injuries.

totally wimped out and picking up a road/hybrid bike today .. ordered it last week. miss biking, but wanted something lighter then a mountain bike.

while there is nothing wrong with a road bike ( i want one too, for endurance training)...

Get a cross country bike. They're so much stronger, more versatile and look more manly. And they weigh peanuts.

this is what I got ...
http://www.jamisbikes.com/bikes/05_codasport.html

not sure what category it fits in ... but it looks good and weighs only 25lbs.
ok parts ... not that great ... but good enough for daily beating and excercise.

thats a towner roadbike.

I'd have gone something more like:

http://www.norco.com/ts/pass/templa...oc=fs&sloc=cc&tabloc=1&id=exctwoht&col=silver

But slap a pair of riser bars on there. That way if you decide to go do some trail riding (be it a nice smooth public access trail or a windy cross country path with some bumps you have that flexibility). But I dunno how often you travel out to the country/a big park and would have that kind of opportunity.

Physiotherapy. :erk:

Reminds me of the time after our car accident back in 1997. I broke a vertebra... So after lying still for weeks, I had to wear a corset for another couple of months (in the summer!) and go to physiotherapy several times a week.

Seeing people sweating and struggling in gyms just for the sake of looking "good", trying to emulate questionable ideals, makes me laugh. Being active outdoors is so much more fun. Biking, skiing, snowboarding... :headbang: I wish I could do the latter two more than just a week or two a year. :(

I wish I could ski/snowboard every in a year. Can't afford it. and yeah, i've spent far too much time in physiotherapy. Thats why I stopped racing/competing.

Shoulder #1 - Downhill race, hit a tree
Shoulder #2 - Downhill race, rock garden (lucky not to have broken ribs)
Shoulder #3 - Dirt Jump Competition, Undershot the landing and came down shoulder first and rolled over the limp of the jump

Fractured Kneecap - Chain skipped going off a drop (shortcut in downhill race), endoed, came down knee first on a rock
torn ligaments - Basically ripped my knee apart on a tree riding for fun
Hip Flexer - Dirt Jumping Competition, did the splits basically when I landed without the bike
Torn Calf Muscle - Epic Cross Country Race, from my pedals

Besides, gyms are soooo boring, gimme something fun/useful/constructive to do thats good excercise. Glad to see at least somebody agrees with me (snow)

he's a saggitarius just like me. I wasbored and was reading the campus newspapers funny horoscopes, no, i'm not gay, they're gag horoscopes. And they list
Well known <insert sign heres>

yeah. oh well, at worst, I should be able to afford a few trips once I finish my schooling... if things work out the way I hope/expect... i'll be able to afford to do it a bit more often.

"i still have feelings for my ex-boyfriend."

game over man, GAME OVER. doh well, i thought i saw potential. guess i shoulda tried for the 'tang sooner, eh? :loco:

i wish chicks could get over that hurdle, this isn't the first time i've discovered a wonderful woman still stuck on their ex (the last one ended up marrying hers after spending a great week with me). i mean look, i still have some feelings for an old girlfriend or two, but i'm sure as hell not going to let that get in the way of a new woman. to me that's self-defeating, if you dig someone new, what else do you need?

oh fuckit, to the bar.
