...then I can't wait until I get the old ones!!!

I got BLACKWATER PARK a couple of days ago and was blown away...

Opeth are incredible.

"Harvest" is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard.

I felt like I've discovered gold or something like that...

:)

I'm not knocking the CD...I think it's incredible!

But some people have said it's their worst effort. So I was saying I'm looking forward to the old CD's!

I used to prefer the newer CD's, now after listening to Morningrise and Orchid a few times, I'm convinced that older is better.

I heard that most of their CD's are terrific.

This pleases me...

:)

BWP has the best production, so it kind of sounds clinically the best, but I actually prefer a couple of the older albums.

They're all pretty good....

I like Still Life more than BWP. I got BWT park first and was amazed as King Purple Rainbow was and then I got Still Life and found my favourite CD of all time (along with Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here)....

It's all opinion based. I love them all equally, no shit. I found it easiest to get into BWP though because it's the 'lightest' approach to Opeth... so at first I found it a bit hard to get into their older stuff... I'm not sure if it'll be the same for you, but just as a warning... you may have to listen to the old stuff a few times over to get it.

I just like the guitar work more. I dont know shit about guitar so I'll just say that I like the style of Benighted more compared to The Harvest because its less strumming and more pick work, more folk styled

On the contrary, I used to prefer the older CD's, now after listening to Still Life and Bwp a few times, I'm convinced that newer is better. :p

Try 'Morningrise'. It's a great album with plenty of cool acoustic passages etc.

That'd be the one I'd go for next. It's probably their best album anyway, but it's definitely got the most acoustic stuff, I think. Not llike Benighted, but more of a relaxed attitude or something... I don't know! You'll love it.

hmm... the folk stuff.. I think you'd like a band called Ulver ,unless you already know about em and I'm making an ass of myself :).

Aside from that I'd have to recommend some in flames songs...
Acoustic Medley
Timeless
Moonshield
Everlost part 2 (if you can stand those annoying vocals)
The Jester's Dance

oh and also, unless you already know about all this shit already:
Dark Tranquillity - The Mind's I

As far as Opeth goes... you'll find alot of songs where there are acoustic interludes like Benighted, but nothing quite as complete as a whole song... I guess as I said, you'd be hanging out for the mellow album.

I like the credence style better.
