If you like Opeth, what other bands do you like???

Enslaved, Meshuggah, Kotiteollisuus, Tenhi, Deathspell Omega, Code, Neurosis, Porcupine Tree, Massive Attack, Indukti, Gojira, Morbid Angel, Akercocke, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Katatonia, Mokoma, Stam1na, Mastodon, In Flames, Pain of Salvation, Radiohead, Sikth, Shining, Bloodbath, Cannibal Corpse, Between The Buried And Me, Amorphis, Fear Factory, Extol, Jesu, Sixteen Horsepower, Apocalyptice, Deftones, Portishead, Frantic Bleep, Sentenced, Tool, Aeon, Emperor, Devin Townsend stuff, Muse, Machine Head, A Perfect Circle... etc.

Definately check out Camel and Comus, as they are two of the main Opeth's influences. Also check out Morbid Angel for the heavy deliverance-esque sound.

I also like Novembre, older In Flames and Edge Of Sanity but generally I'm into "softer" music, like newer Anathema and Katatonia, Nightingale, Sigur Ròs...

..Very in depth list, but still a load of suggestions that are hardly apt given what was asked for.

I agree with Deathspell, code, Tenhi, Mastodon, Shining, Jesu, Tool and Emperor.. Devin Townsend, whilst i'm not too into him.. Is probably a good one to check out.

Ah, missed the "...that may have a touch of their style." part in the first post.

Quo Vadis, Arsis, Gojira, Nevermore, later Death (Human onward), Augury, Riverside, Orphaned Land, Agalloch and so on. Back to Times of Splendor by Disillusion is an amazing album too.

I haven't heard too much Enslaved, but Isa and Below The Lights are both killer. :headbang:

this man wins. period.

DevilDriver, Nile, Children of Bodom, Deicide.

I REALLY need to broaden what i listen to but i never seem to get much chance and when i do it's very often Opeth.

If we're mentioning electronic stuff - Venetian Snares.. Specifically, their album "Rossz Csillag Alatt Szulettet".

Vehementer Nos! I keep on trying to inform everybody of this band but no one seems to take any notice. I shit you not - they're fucking amazing!
