IN FLAMES new album being released by the end of 2016

Thinking about Paris and how random it was, they didn't care who or what the band playing was. They just knew they had an easy target in a packed venue. Horrific shit. Could be anyone, anywhere.

I don't think it was "random", but I understand what you mean.

Talking about the music venue in particular. Just a random show one night, sold out, that any music fan could've been at

Here's a teaser for a new song, or possibly 2? Don't know. It or both songs sound nice in my opinion. Really like the guitar work on the intro and also vocals are nice. Classic catchy chorus. Hard to judge anything with such short samples, but it definitely is better than the Rusted Nail sample was. Production seems nice as always also. Seems like the album will definitely come out before the end of the year now when they start releasing samples, and they're touring both in November and straight after New Years.

Man, the HYPE IS REAL! I just listened the sample, I guess its the single dont think its two songs but I just love it. The chorus is pretty awesome as usual but thing I like most is that the guitars isnt low like the other albums. Like on SC you can barely hear the chorus leads but on this its just awesome. Cant judge new album just with short samples but I like what I'm hearing. It's better be out soon!

Agreed it's probably the same song, they just cut from verse to chorus. Seems like a good first single, if it is the single. And I agree about the guitars, you can hear the lead guitar clearly in the background of the chorus even at first couple listens, that's a good thing.

The first section reminds me of some melodies from CC (and something that smells a little like ASOP?). The guitars sound good. As for the chorus, without listening to the full section I just cannot judge it. But it definitely sounds more agressive than SC, and more than SOAPF.

Sadly they're supporting two shitty and, by far, inferior bands.

Well I can definitely sense an ASOP vibe on the song thats for sure. The chorus is kinda like a mix of Become the Sky and Filtered Truth for me. But I like what I'm hearing on the song, its pretty good. Also it's like Daniel never left In Flames, drums are just like his style and thats awesome cause I like his style.

I agree its sad that they're supporting Avenged Sevenfold and Disturbed but that means new fans and that could be good considering they're gonna release a new DVD and album soon.

New single Imminent then? (Teaser sounds amazing)

Well I think they're gonna release the album at the end of this year, so we can say that its pretty close.

I called it, a return to a heavier, more metalcore-ish vibe a la Come Clarity. Sounds better than Siren Charms, but still pretty squarely middle-of-the-road.

Also, supporting A7X and Disturbed, possibly two of the most cancerous pseudo-metal bands of a bygone era... just awful. And the worst part? IF have passed the point where I can't even say they're mismatched, their current musical direction fits perfectly with that lineup and fan base. How the mighty have fallen.

Hard to judge what the album will sound like just from that sample though. For all we know, that might be the fastest and heaviest track on the album. But likely it's not. I doubt it will be a return to CC similar sound, CC was a very fast paced album. Or maybe you just meant the structure & sound and not actual similarity. But it does seem like the album will be a bit more heavier and aggressive, at least vocal-wise. Especially since they've used the more radio-friendly singles last couple albums and this one, probably being the single, sounded somewhat heavy with a catchy chorus.

I mean, he had aggressive vocals on SC, it's just that he used the whole talking thing during most of the verses and every song had the same structure.

From the amount you can hear, sounds to me like ASOP and Sounds Of A Playground sounds combined. I even like the higher notes at the "we are" parts.

After a couple more listens, really good to hear more guitar melodies in the background

They need a new songwriter. It does sound better than SC, but that's not saying much. Same melodies, same riffs revolving around same ideas in different production for 10 or so years now.

As for Anders... better than SC or ASOP, but again, same chaotic layer over layer, effect over effect way of working around his inability to scream or sing. Btw, chorus is not that catchy at all.

But, hope that I'm wrong and this one turns out fine.

Even if it does, I guess it will be more along the lines of "oh, that's a nice melodic riff there, oh, good scream for 3 seconds, oh, cool enjoyable chorus" and not something like "wow, that song kicks ass, wow epic riffing" or something like that.

Lets hear the whole new album before we can comment on songwriting. The lead single is usually the "safest" song in the album and therefore would sound similar to previous albums/hits/songs. Hopefully we'll get more variety than on SC on the remaining songs.

I mean the songs on SC was pretty varied, just that they weren't great. Just take Everything's Gone, When the World Explodes, Through Oblivion, Paralyzed & Siren Charms. Completely different sounding tracks imo. I wouldn't say that SC sounds anything like SOAPF and that SOAPF sounds anything like ASOP, definitely not the ''same riffs'' and ''same melodies''. I still think every new album IF puts out sounds different than the one before. Really don't see where you get that from. I mean every single metal band out there has their way of writing riffs and melodies that are signature to the band, but I wouldn't say In Flames has done the same melodies, riffs and ideas the last 10 year at all. I don't really find any similarity in Come Clarity and SOAPF for example. Neither SC compared to ASOP. It all sounds very different. Same ideas would mean bands like Amon Amarth who's one of my absolute favorite bands, they actually do write similar songs on different albums, same ideas and their trademark tremolo riffs, that's why I love them. IF switch up a lot of stuff on every album.

EDIT: Looks like we have a confirmed 2016 release date of the new album
