Introducing opeth to a jazz/classical influenced musician

If you want to impress her with opeth, just show some of the coolest tracks.

Weather heavy?

I have a music teacher who only truely appreciates jazz and classical genres of music. Being a fan of opeth I know they incorporate these elements into their music. I was wondering if anyone could help me choose a song to introduce them to her.

Don't bother about jazz or classical music. Just show her a good example of Opeth music, neither too mellow, nor too heavy. Try Moonlapse Vertigo, or Harlequin Forest. If she doesn't like it, show her Windowpane. If she still doesn't like it, then give it up. Either it stays in her head and she'll come back to you about it, or she'll never like it.

Still Life has some jazzy elements. I'd go for Face of Melinda. However, Opeth is in many ways a modern band and thus it's unlikely that a person who's solely into classical or jazz and who's not into metal would really catch with Opeth. Sad but true.
