Is it just me or does the new Chimaira just sound like...

Forgive me, but it's not like PT is the only host that you can get a clinical, sterile and lifeless production out of

I like it, its not the best thing they've done, but to me it just sounds like a continuation of the grooving elements they had going on across Resurrection. Got to agree about the vocal production, jason suecof really knows what he's doing, he brings out the best in vocalists and guitarists. He gets vocalists to open up more, he did the same of God Forbid on Constitution of Treason. Mark is lacking in clarity on 'Secrets Of The Dead'.

What the fuck is it with this whole "each fucking song needs to have at least one subdrop! Even more the better!". Gawdamn I hate those personally. :)

The song is nothing. Impossibility was good album.

Wait now.. is this not a pre-mix or the unmastered version?

I agree with what most said here, but the song is pretty cool like.. i bet this is the song that is one of the slower, longer ones on the album.
Guitars should be upped in volume for sure and spread a bit, they do sound a bit dull now.

I think this isn't that bad. Drums sound nice. Guitar maybe not the best tone they had on a cd. Sound indeed a bit pro toolsy...
Song itself is one of those typical slow chimaira songs.... offcourse I hope the rest of this album has faster more crushing songs on it..

Agree with the "boring, slow and generic", but tonewise I liked it.

I agree.
The song starts well but gets boring and uninspired sounding very quickly.

The production sounds good but more high mids/treble/presence in guitars would be great, as somebody already mentioned.

I never liked the vocals that much in Chimaira and i still don't like them.

I don't like recent Zeuss productions that much (great guitar sounds but thin drums : Madball, Icepick, Terror), but his work on God Forbid's "Determination" was AWESOME.
