with the most beautiful (second) name a woman can have. ;) never, I MEAN NEVER give up. keep your head up high, my mom had cancer twice. and won twice. don't listen to what doctors say. they once were only pupils studying from books... no seers, believe me, they can't know.

shit ... what a damned thing so called live can be
what can I say ... I hope u are able to enjoy what time´s left ...
wait over there in this unknown place for all of us will join u there .. sooner or later

Situations like this remind us how frail life is and that our everyday "problems" are trivial and insignificant. Renske, DO NOT give up, no matter what anyone says...mind over body...you can achieve amazing things if you believe in this. Experience everything to it's full extent...
I KNOW that you'll be here for a very long time...
Take care :)

Renske,
we´ve never spoken to each other, but my thoughts go out to you.I´m lost for words........

My 20th Birthday was supposed to be is September, the fucking docktos say it would be a 'miracle' if I survive that long, considering the position and the nature of my tumor."

If I had $1 for every time I've heard a story about someone who doctors had given a minimal amount of time to, who lived YEARS beyond the so-calld "expert" diagnosis, I'd be a very wealthy man. Case in point Jim Kelly, who used to be the Quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, was just inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. During his induction speech, he spoke about how happy he was that his SIX year old son was able to attend his induction. Jim's son has a very rare illness, and wasn't supposed to live past the age of ONE. Jim is a very wealthy man, and can afford the best doctors. And even the top specialist in the world, have been totally wrong, as Jim’s son is still alive FIVE YEARS LATER.

To that end, don't ever stop living. Live everyday like it's your last, but don't ever stop to think about the fact that it just might be (which is probably god advice for us all). While the prognosis may be bleak, you may outlive us all.

What day in September is your birthday? I plan on starting a Happy Birthday thread, and having you post back and tell us exactly what you were listening to all day.

25th of September, I'm a libra.

Renske, do not give up. Libra's are notorious fighters and with love and determination, I truly believe ANYTHING is possible. So many of your brothers and sisters here have already said so, but remember that doctors are WRONG all the time. Medicine is merely science, and science is not exact.

I don't know you either, as I obviously came to be while you were away learning of your tragic news. You have 2 options now: live your life to the fullest or lie and wait. I truly hope you choose the former. And I'm willing to back my words. Ever been to New York City? Come here and I'll take you out for a night on the town, my treat.

I'm terribly sorry and having just gone through something similar with my best friend's mother, I'm once again at a more-or-less loss for words. I will pray & hope for you.

We WILL see you soon, bye for now.

Renske--
My mother was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in a very advanced stage and she lived more than twice as long as the doctors told her she would. To my way of thinking, this was for two reasons. The first is obvious, American doctors will do anything to avoid a malpractice suit, including underestimate life expectancy. The second not so obvious -- she wasn't done yet and honestly believed she wouldn't die until she was good and ready.

Don't give up until you are ready. Period. Then, move on to the great mystery. Bright Blessings to you and my thoughts and support are with you, though we've never spoken.

Sounds like a great idea. Let me know, I'm down for some NYC fun, and more than happy to split the costs with MG.

Nor a tribute..the new cd dedicated to you!!!

Makes yo wonder.

Renske I am glad your a brave soul, and keep writing, thaks for the info on your avatar.

@Renske : even if I don't know you, all my thoughts and prayers go to you in these hard times, I'm sure we'll see you posting for a long time!

@Rebirth : Usually a dedication in an album is related to someone who passed away, but I agree with you the band would do something wonderful if they dedicated at least a song to her.
A dedication to courage and will to live.

Keep the faith in what makes you happy Renske, we love ya.

It doen't matter if they (nevermore) dedicate anything to me. I'm sure they are very busy... Although I do know Jeff alot better than most, (when I first got into the band there was that little episod in the backstage bathroom...... wierd days....I ended up puking.................enough of that). They'd better put out a fucking good album though, no DHIADW. It was ok, but not up to nevermore standards...

Magister Templi/ True Light/ Rebirth I'll try to put that picture as my signature:)

:D Exactly... Bring back Poe and IM :)

You'll have to host the avatar somewhere, you can't upload them anymore... If you find it on a website somewhere, you'll be able to take the url for it, and put it in the 'avatar' box in your profile... otherwise, you can upload it at a free site somewhere... If you need help info etc, i'm more than happy to lend a hand...
