Ok, Let me give you my opinion as a black man in a white man dominated genres opinion on race. When I first got into "metal" my white friends were cool as shit with an occasional "you're black and you like metal comment". Some of you already know I was denied a role in the first metal band because they thought it didn't look right. But overall white people didn't have a problem with me locally. The first time my band Incision got opening gigs for Cannibal Corpse, Grave and some other group back in 90 I was scared that the guys in those bands wouldn't be so forgiving of a black guy in a metal band.....just didn't see it that often. but Alex Webster and some of the other members were fucking cool as shit. Then during the Cause Of Death tour for Obituary I happened to run into Trevor and I ask him what his thoughts on racism in metal and he tells me that he knows it's there but he thinks it sucks and just so happen this black guy walked up to us....and Trevor says "as a matter of fact this is my roommate so yeah racism sucks" I was like fucking cool. But then.......as the years have gone by and since Obama has become president...I've caught some of my "metal friends" and past band members saying some racist shit, and it made wonder what the fuck were they were saying about me back in the day.

It's possible that's for sure, and in Texas?. I got tons of shit for being Latin/Spanish/call it what you want in Texas. Mostly, Mexican comments. I'm Cuban, Peruvian and a bevy of other shit in Europe. Campbell. I'm also on the lighter side, olive/white complexion.

People talk shit, some make racist remarks in jest (stereotypes, such as the joke in the OP), some are down right racist. I Personally think we should just laugh at it, to take away it's power. Plus some of it is just damn funny, no matter what the race, in the arena of jokes that is.

One of my all time favs is Eddie Murphy, Raw. It's hilarious.

As a black dude, do you feel the OP was racist? My black friends would chuckle at it.

I don't know him personally so i don't know if he's racist, but the joke was a racist stereotype. But some people can hide their racism in by saying it was a joke. It's kinda funny with social media and links.....a friend posted a racially charge article on Facebook and the first thing he said was, "I'm not racist but this is horrible" and the story he linked was from **********.com. I wanted to ask him if he wasn't racist, why was he on a white
supremist site looking for a story.

There's the whole historical drama thing with racism that is purely disgusting (talking about slavery/how the devellopement in society and general acceptance took centuries and crippled the social dynamics hence creating clusters of people and then ghettos).

But also, we're in 2014. That "it stole my bike" is just a stupid wink at a stupid generalisation but it's funny nonetheless because of other elements: Ramsay's face is priceless and the "food burning turning black" is hilarious. I took the picture off facevook and I remember the comment of a dim-skinned dude saying "I'm black but I pissed my pants laughin when I saw that joke". That's kind of the moment when I thought "hey let's post it at Sneaps and see the reactions".

Now I'll tell you something. I don't like everybody but I judge person by person. I don't really like people from Haiti but do like those from Africa.
I don't know where you're from but as pitch black as they can be (which I don't care about - it's just some fuking skin), the mentality is very differant from a place to another.
I just struggle with haiti because they immediatly play the racist card before you even open your mouth as opposed to african ones who just chill out.

But still, and I don't care what you think, I hate those fuckers who just reinforce stereotypes by playing by the stereotype: steal a bike, BECOME A RAPPER and just pretend to be Tupac, etc... Get your own fucking identity.

Anyone else notice how racists always say that they are not racist? "I'm not racist I just think the black population have been brainwashed into believing we owe them something. I would still talk to them I have a black co worker blah blah blah". lol irony.
 
It's completly useless to discuss that kind of jokes via an internet forum.
It completly depends on the situation and how the person tells the joke to see where he/she's going with that.
