Kitchen at The Pearl Room closed

Not that I was planning to get food at The Pearl Room this weekend, but why did they close the kitchen? Was it not profitable enough? Did they find nasties?... :ill:

All,

We just found out yesterday that the Pearl Room decided to close
the kitchen down last week so there won't be any food at the venue.
We're sorry if this is an inconvenience for anyone (it is for us at least)
but there will be plenty of time to eat before and after the show.

Chris

AHHHH SHIZER.....guess I'll need to pack a lunch ; )

Someone needs to list all the food places in the area of the venue and what their specialty is... I'd love to see my options for this weekends dining.

Seriously... if you're a carnivore, take your ass to Ricobene's before the show and get yourself a breaded steak sammich. You won't *need* to eat anything else that night...

This is the second time I've seen you plug that place. What else is on the menu besides the steak sammich? Do they have any good fish? Oh, and if the Malnati's ppl get their way with catered pizza there will be plenty of fleshmeat on them if they get the sausage. Back in the heavy meat-eating days I remember I didn't care for the slab o' beef on their sausage pizzas. *yuk*

So does that mean we won't be getting our backstage catering for playing this show????? After the amazing food we were served on the European tour, how can you expect us not to be properly fed for playing your fest, fat fucks that we are?? That's it, I'm not going.

I'm kidding of course.....but not about the fat fucks part, that part is true. :)

Haha...don't worry, the bands/crew/sponsors still get catering. ;)

I heard that Bob (Diabolik) is willing to cook for the bands.
Not sure whether or not you would want to take him up on that though.
His woman tells me he makes a mean bowl of cereal!

You might be able to order a pizza to the front door. >_> ("Sorry security person can you hand the guy my $20 and ask for $3 in change?").

I seriously don't see what the big deal is here people.
Do you get food when you go to shows at House of Blues or Metro?
No... Do you survive? Yes!

The show starts each night at 6:30.
Plan on eating at 5PM (or earlier). Plenty of time to eat and then go to the gig.

Otherwise, plan on eating a bigger lunch later in the afternoon, and then eat AFTER the show.

While I agree that ins and outs are a great perk, I can certainly understand why venues would not care for it. Just adds another security risk to have people coming and going.

I'll find out if there may still be some things like nachos or
something available....I really don't understand how not
being able to eat for 5 hours will wreck your weekend or
your time at the fest....bring a candy bar in with you, if it's
that big of a deal.

I guess I just don't want what could otherwise be an amazing couple of nights of metal to be wrecked by lack of foresight in planning.

To be fair, though, remember that the no re-entry rule is NOT by the choice of the organizers, from what I remember. It's a Pearl Room rule arranged by the club in agreement with the local PD or, possibly a local ordinance.

I cant figure out why people freak out about not eating for 5 hours....do you eat something every few hours when you are not at a show??? I know I dont...there are times where I dont eat or drink for like 12 hours. Like Chris pointed out...bring in a candy bar or a power bar or something. Eat something before going on in. I do that for every show and I never have issues.

You and some other people here beat me to the punch.

Honestly, this is really no different than any other all ages show you might go to. Think about the other shows that you people have been to. I think some of you guys are fixated on the whole "fest" concept. This isn't Milwaukee Metalfest or something where bands start playing at 2PM and go all the way until 1AM. That's a situation where food needs to be offered or options for people to get their own food. Otherwise, it's no different than going to any other venue for a touring show. Unless some of you are diabetic or have other special needs (which, bringing your own snacks has already been mentioned) I think that most of us will survive. :)

If this were a fest that started very early in the day I could see this being a problem, but for a show that starts at 6:30 I don't think it should be a big deal. Plus, there are multiple food joints within walking distance from the venue, so it'd be nothing for people to get there, park the car, go grab some quick food and still get into the club in time for the start of the show. And same goes for afterwards, there's late-night places to eat right there in the immediate area to go grab food. So seriously, unless someone just HAS to eat at 9 pm every night, I think everyone will be able to take care of their food necessities without a problem.
