lets be realistic, pt hd 3 rig

Shouldn't matter, I'm sure most, if not all, of the plug-ins he is using have Win and Mac versions as it is, it's as simple as installing from the discs or downloading the installers.

Man at this point I think I would rather be kicked in the balls than have to switch systems and learn a different program. lol.......and I can only imagine doing it with the time crunches you are probably dealing with.

if you do decide to sell it, send me a PM with the complete list of everything (plugins?)and a price. I'm actually piecing together a decent sized studio right now for a couple friends, they can probably take it off your hands for a price that works out for everyone.

Joey, PM me your prices as well... computer too.. but itemize please... you will prob have to piece it out unless you luck onto someone with cash and inclination to buy a turn-key system.

Ok.. Joey, here comes a question... Besides the fact that PT slow your workflow and stuff, Do you think PT HD improved your work/sound/production quality? I would love to hear some of your work on PT before you sell it all :)

Everyone knows you need Nuendo for the BOOOM.

It obviously didn't. :Smug:

good luck sellin that stuff. Your not the only one trying to jump ship

Wow, this will no doubt be a pretty big post for the steinberg fans. Good luck with selling.

who really cares? people are gonna use what they're comfortable with, it doesn't necessarily mean it's better or worse, just what's right for the person. Pro Tools doesn't suck because Joey prefers cubase, and pro tools isn't better than cubase... for JOEY.

(I read this post after i wrote it and it looks mean spirited, but I don't mean it that way.)

lol not me for one dude. Just bonus points for cubase in the UM community (and wider) from a name that lots of kids are obsessed with :)

Kindof... I knew before, for me at least, since my workflow/editing style is very similar to Joey's, that PT would be a bit of a hassle if/when I wanted to switch - this just reaffirms my suspicions.

if you look at ebay sometimes you got a complete PT HD2 rig for cheap, sometimes you got just the interface for too much money.
Depends on what you wanna earn from this rig. IT's easy to sell, but people won't spend so much on the whole PT HD 3 rig, sell just the pieces.

you have homeowner's insurance?

if so, i can take that rig off your hands and get you all your $$ back on it, too...

:heh:

I will probably jump to new nuendo. 64 bit. With a new windows machine. This whole pt game is causing my usual clients to complain about slowness and other shit about the way pt was designed kind of sucks for my workflow. Even after I outsourced drum ediing I'm still behind on other things. I will miss elastic audio tho if I switch. The decision isn't final and I still enjoy running many Tdm plugins in pt.

The other day I edited, added fx, and mixed an attack attack song in about an hour total on cubendo. I don't even have a tuning workflow that I'm happy with in pt because autotune is broken in audiosuite and graph tuning/re-recording every take takes too many voices and too much time.

I am on Pro tools too on pc, I kind of hate it and love it. It crashes every chance it can get. I have a powerful pc and it still sucks.
Do you think the jump from pro tools to cubase would be worth it and/or a huge thing to get used too? it's just i have done so many things with pro tools that i am afraid i am going to be lost going into cubase (I haven't even touch cubase yet) Also installtions with plug ins, do they go well. Pro tools manages to mess up every installation ever. hahaha The more i type the more i am wanting to switch as well.

I also have a question (a little of topic) You were saying that you auto tune is broken but are you saying that you don't correct pitch with the graph or do you use the other mode? sorry if i sound retarted.
I usually find myself graphing in auto-tune.

sorry but the problem is your P.C
Pro tools is very particular about hardware

protools is pretty particular about everything

i just recently had key sessions with prada, and we wasted about 4 hours all together just keeping the session open on my screen

all we were trying to do was play some software synths WITH A QUALIFIED MIDI CONTROLLER

it was bull shit. every plugin completely up to date, most latest customer support version, mac completely up to date, everything done exactley to the T, and that shit still crashed, minute after minute.

i can't tell you how excited i am to move back to nuendo/cubase. i try to break cubase, and i cant! not worrying about ADC getting busted is worth it alone. PT is behind the times. no matter what ANYONE tells you, it really is. In so many ways.

James murphy might pipe in here and preach differently. but in my experience and customized workflow, pt just isnt my cup of tea. its a pretty capable peice of software, but for me thats where it stops. right at potential's door. it has potential, but you can't do SHIT with potential. i need results, yesterday! cubase gets that to me. my upgrade plan was foiled. i figured, if im going to upgrade my machine and resources, might as well try switching to PT and play with the big DAW. NO! terrible choice haha. I should have stuck with my current stuff, and just upgraded my computer.

the only thing pt has going for it that i found EXTREMELY useful was elastic audio. but cubase gets the same algo / work flow in the next version, so fuck it!
