Liverpool will be Europe's Cultural capital in 2008 - might be a good platform for Anathema? its still far away, hope they can really represent themselves as a genuine exponent of British and Scouse rock/metal.
ah it was great living in Rotterdam in 2000 - being the European capital as well as hosting the Euro 2000 football cup had a lot of fun and met nice foreign ppl aye
dunno if Anathema played a Rotterdoom venue back then
Liverpool......Always a good place to visit for a few days. Its still got some great buildings from its glory days. The downside is that its population has decreased over the years and some of its districts are amongst the most deprived in Europe. But it still has a big heart.
I agree with Tools , that it would be great if Anathema could be involved in the Years events, and represent the City , Its strange, but they are not that well known in their own City. I'm sure they would be a revelation.
Lille is the european cultural capital this year and it's just great. I wish it could be this way every year, and thanks to it ive been working on a dead cool festival this year.
But i'm not sure it's that helpful for local bands, it could give Anathema some opportunities, but as to say it would be a great way for them to be more known, i'm not sure...Anywhoo, let's see ... !
yeah I think that would be a good idea... It would be great to see anathema play a proper gig in Liverpool like. I think they have more fans at home than they realise.
it would be good for the boys if that was the case but for the time anathema have been arround they are shockingly unknown outside of the alternative and metal scene.
i for one am proud as i more or less grew up with them.
brought a tear to me eye there. but yer, get a gig going in town, and i can gaurentee a fair few turning up without a doubt. the rome expedition by me and viks got you a few more fans - bascially cuz people wanted to know why wed travel across europe to see a band from round the corner that nobody had heard of lol.
haha it's truly fucked up aint it, i mean it took a guy from blackpool to tell you about this band from just down the road from you, who are fucking brilliant and have been going for over 10 years, then the first time you see them is in fucking Rome, hahaha
sponkys? god I dunno what that is but if I smell of it then I do believe its time for my annual shower.
Liverpool doesnt smell but the surrounding shit hole towns do... however after growing up in a rancid environment you grow accustomed to the radiation and odd acid rain shower. Liverpool's a nice city to visit spose I spend so much time there I dont really notice?
Hahahaa Andy... you crazy lil blackpool kid. who woulda thought a lad with such a bad haircut could be into decent music.jokin!!!
