I'm curious to see what it can do...sound clips and reviews are all good so...who knows. Besides, $549 brand new, 120W all tube w/ 6L6s and a footswitch...not a bad deal as long as it sounds good. I was hesitant until I learned that Behringer just distributes these, they don't make them. So that was comforting.

i dunno, man...i think that behringer set up bugera as a separate company to white they still act as the parent, then act as if they're the "distributor", even though the same company is still responsible for its design(well...maybe not) and construction

So you sold your XSr...and bought a XXX clone? sssiiiiggghhhh, when you choose to come back my son, all will be forgiven :p

there is not really a doubt in my mind that this amp would sound very similar to a 5150/6505. my only fear is that the quality control is not as good as pv`s,
but for a studio environment i think its safe to say this amp would have a decent life expectancy!!

It´s funny, I´m not sure if you guys can read this thread but there were comments from a regular on that board that builds and does maintenance on amps that shortly said Peavey´s were pieces of shit as far as maintenance and durability is concerned. I might have interpreted wrongly but it seems like these Bugeras arent worse than anything mass produced these days. PCB mounted reduces wiring, reduces shortage.

Your signature says "Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier•Mesa Standard 4x12 w/V30s•Keeley Modded TS-9".
Isn´t that enough?

On what basis do you found your claim, blaspheme? ;)

possibly yes lol no i just think that it would be easy to copy the 5150 design, use cheaper components and be able to sell the amp cheaper. also you are not paying for the peavey logo on the front of the amp.
if peavey tried suing for coping the design, then they would be giving the bugera publicity much like gibson suing prs ( i think thats who it was)

As soon as I read the topic title, I know what this was about :P
haha, dude assuming it stays intact I believe you'll be pleasantly surprised with the good tone of these amps.
So far I use my 6260 for about 3hours a day (3 weeks so far), I notice any little noises or quirks I originally heard are now gone, also I've posted heaps of clips and I believe the guys here have liked what they heard. So good luck dude :) You may enjoy it yet

Red Chip Company Ltd (registered in the Virgin Islands, but doing business out of Singapore) holds the trademarks and patents for both Behringer and Bugera. Bugera products are "designed in Germany and put together with parts manufactured entirely in [Behringer's] Chinese factories from speaker cones to coils."

iekobrid: that red chip company sounds like a offshore business account (i.e. register a semi-fake business on those islands, transfer all valueable assets to that company and then pay the ,probably, low taxes on the Virgin islands) its a tax haven etc.

No doubt.

I know because I tried to convince my parents to do it as well when they still had their company... They didnt want it because they felt socially responsable to pay the huge taxes and didnt like the pile of paperwork that comes with it :waah:

:S Does everyone here seem to try to pick faults with anything not of supreme brand??? If it aint a Peavey or Mesa blah blah! Even the Krank blow but there's some serious flamaing that goes on here :Pa

i wouldn't necessarily consider someone declaring that in their honest opinion they do not like the tone of a certain amp, flaming. the amp is just not my style of tone.
