LOL. I bought one....

It's flaming when there is no reference to the tone at all dude, everyone whos had something to say is uaully about OH ITS BEHRINGER ITS GOT TO SUCK. That's a great view to have as a subjective opinion, I suggest you guys go try the amp before you bag it. I've AB'd with my mates 6505, I say it's within 8% off it's true tone. And if you like a 6505 (5150 watevs) then i'll bet you enjoy the tone of the Bugera!
Cheers

ok when did i say "its behringer its got to suck"? dont get all pissed off about it. and plus i straight up referenced the tone by saying i hadnt heard a clip i liked. mostly the clips i have heard that you posted. (no offense). and if you will remember straight you posted a thread on the rate my mix forum and i told you i didnt like the guitar tone but if you liked it then thats great. if you like the tone of it then its a good buy for you as it is cheaper than a 6505. but to me that amp lacks what every other 6505 clone lacks. it lacks that signature growl of the 6505/5150. call me a purist i dont give a fuck i own a 6505 and i am very happy with it.

I personally dislike Behringer's business model of steal, slightly change, resell... but that's just because I know how much of a pain in the ass it is to design a good product, and that if everyone did this we'd only have one bloody guitar amp made by eighty different people. It's like if a cover band were to say they're as good as Led Zeppelin because they can play most of the notes right... no, you didn't create anything, you just copied, time to fucking die.

As for the amp's quality itself... if anyone can make it sound good, it's this jackass, so the day of reckoning is nigh...

Lol Jeff. I suppose I can take that as a compliment?

At any rate, I can always just resell it as MINT and lose maybe $20-30 on the deal. At that point I'll just go for a Krank Rev Jr., and sell the cab, haha. BTW, I called Krank the other day and asked if the Rev Jr. can seriously power a 4x12 and the guys says, "the Rev Jr. will eat that Mesa cab for breakfast. No, seriously though, it'll power it fine. I actually prefer it through a full 4x12, especially a Mesa, than through the 1x12 that we designed for it." So I know what my next option will be in case the Bugera isn't cutting it. I have a feeling I'm going to like the Bugera though. Dunno why...

do they really steal their designs? I've never really paid that much attention to them. but I heard Behringer was founded by a disgruntled Mackie employee, and i just assumed the made their stuff the cheapest labor and cheapest parts they could. I've ripped a few pieces of their stuff apart and thought they were made decent enough.

On the amp though, it's the most blatent amp ripoffs i've ever seen, but how many mfg's make Strats and Les Paul styled guitars? If it's cheap and sounds good maybe it'll mean people will stop buying Crates and i won't have to mix losers with shit amps cranked up to 10.

I'm not trying to create an argument, I'm just saying go and play it yourself first. I didn't say shit about Krank till I tried one, now that I have I will give my opinion bout it no matter how bad it is, but only now because I tried it first hand and that's how I feel about it after playing them XD, that's all dudes :P
Cheers

another pretty decent head ive played that is cheap is the peavey valveking. 2 bands i have brought in used that and it sounds great. it is $529.99 new.

Valveking is indeed good, but my friend had one and upgraded to the 6505, worlds apart. But so is the price!
Valveking here $1200 6505 is $2500
:(

said Peavey´s were pieces of shit as far as maintenance and durability is concerned.

hlysht.
what?

peavey shit will still be around if the universe itself is destroyed. srsly. it must be of THE GODS.

I've heard a few Valvekings in live situations and never liked them. Sound too fizzy and weak. I haven't heard the Windsor yet, but i need to dig up that clip - anyone has a lank?!

EDIT: found Windsor clips (sounds great!):

anyway, the Bugera stuff. we definitely need good clips.

There's a lot more to a guitar than its body. Hard to say a seven-string Schecter with two humbuckers and doodads out the ass is a Strat ripoff... however, an amp is a circuit in a box, and stealing a box really doesn't get anywhere...

And I'll buy Crates as long as I like the sound of them, thank you very much. The problem is people who don't know how to use them, and expect everything to be able to sound like a Quintuple Rectifier on 14.

I think there;s the issue here of sounding GOOD compared to sounding EXACTLY like the original of an object. The Bugera to me sounds good, the Les Paul copy my mates got for my bday sounds GOOD, but do they soung exactly like a Gibson/ Peavey combo??? Probly not :)

TBH a lot of parts that really any amp manufacturer uses aren't all that expensive...they just add up.
