Reign in Blood is a good pissed-off album, lots of people recommend Bloodbath - I guess So You Die is a good one. SYL - Alien is great (don't think so much of their new album) and Morbid Angel usually have a good intensity.

Oh, and Dev's skullet is fantastic. I will be seeing it tonight, as they are playing in Portsmouth!

Maybe you've only heard his work in SYL, and from that point of view you're right (since the music and lyrics in SYL are meant to be incoherent, bizarre and insane), but I can hardly see how albums like Ocean Machine and Accellerated Evolution are examples of bad songwriting and lyrics.

syl is great and i really like the new album.
the music is heavy, catchy and fun, and at the end of the day it's quite good quality imho

i'm not so much into the happy style of dev's solo stuff, but i definitely enjoy most of it.
