Most Iranian Americans came over during the revolution. The largest groups were secular, affluent Muslims who were making bank under the Shah, political refuges (often Marxists and socialists) and religious minorities. Since the majority of Muslims were pretty secular to begin with, their children tend to be ever more secular and don't care about dating outside their religion, if they even practice Islam in the first place.

This reminds me of an interesting couple I see around. The guy is in his forties and he's supposed to be the richest guy in my neighborhood, a fat bald millionaire in a jump suit. Now his girlfriend (cca 25 yo) obviously has some mental disorders and I don't think it was hard to get her to bed but that's their business really. They bring their own fucking wine bottles to the pub and then ask the waiter for glasses. Last time that crazy bitch with all the disorders you can think of came to the bar where I was standing with a bunch of regulars and she started screaming about her menstruation and the lack of toilet paper in the ladies room. The combination of being retarded and being a spoiled little brat is surely hysterical and punch-worthy.
