That's common sense but too general to make use of. What you really need to concentrate on at the beginning is making sure that you have actual chemistry. And not just romantic chemistry, but just the very basics of being able to talk to the person and carry out basic conversations with them in a way that you enjoy for the same reasons you would talking to your good friends.
