Fuck, I honestly think women ruin fun. I went out with a group of guys last night and we were having a great time. As soon as you know it some of their "gfs" show up and our mouths are shut and our hands are tied. There was actually a point where one of these chicks brought up some shitty hipster band she "looovvvvveddd" and then bed bath & beyond lol, it was miserable.

Yeah, that is a pretty big buzzkill. If I went out with a group of lads and some of their girls showed up, I probably would've left tbh.

I think it also depends on the guys too. This may be pretty obvious but I've had some cool girls come into a hanging out situation and they're chill as fuck, but the guys change into chest pounding gorillas trying to act tough, cool, alpha-male and hit on them so the normal energy of just hanging out turns into a competition. most of the girls i know are just like the guys and even if i hang out with girls its pretty similar (obviously not exactly the same) but i really think while girls/guy nights are different yeah it can still be close to the same if the people are chill and people don't try to change their demeanor because of some others showing up (which sadly always happens).
