Manes 'View' makes me urinate oh so gloriously!

but i think the point is that the electronic manes has only one member from the True Manes days. so in actuality, it is not the same band, both in sound and members

depends wether the remaining guy is the main writer IMO

the same could be said for ephel duath, or many other bands, today is the day for instance, although stylistically changes aren't so drastic with t.i.t.d

some bands can take a drastic change others can't
I think its a very individual thing
personally I think I/we have the right to do whatever the fuck we want to within our band, all this crying 'stay troo' and 'giving the fans what they want' does nothing to further the development of art.it just becomes a cage.

So the guy who wrote all the tunes and played all the instruments isn't allowed to keep the same band name, because the singer left? Ugh.

Anyhow, I didn't dig up this thread just to argue, it's because I'm finally listening to this EP. I like it, except the first remix. Falls into that bullshit trap of "take 2 brief catchy moments from the original tune, loop them in bizarre order, add nonsensical house beat 30 decibals too loud, GO!" Gross.

In the spirit of continuing with the urinating titles for Manes . . .

This truly does sound like an EP. It is quite experimental, but not in a weird way. I don't know if their next full length will be quite like this, but this EP is definite step forward for the band. There's no way I'm going to say this is better than 'Vilosophe', because it's not. Lot's more electronics and stuff, but mostly because there are some remixes and such.

This is a LONG way from being "metal". Still easily worth the money, though.

I am really digging the instant feel of this disc (just got the promos from code) ... was not a huge fan of Vilosophe, but this is hitting me in all the right ways. Like you said ... this is far from metal, but i like this techno/electronica infused cacophony.

on the other hand the new CANAAN ... oh boy, that is some downer crap ... anyone wants the promo??? PM me your addy ...
