He admited in one of my guitar mags that we was still on drugs up through RIP and it wasnt until after (about Countdown era and Youthenasia) he cleaned up for good. Now he has found God. Which is all good, I supposed. He also said that he was not in a car accident that injured his hand, but he had fell asleep on it cutting off the circulatoin for a few hours doing almost permanent nerve damage. I hate to say it, but when you post on the internet and your website a lie to cover up something that you feel will be viewed as lame, totally discredits your name/worth. It really made me wonder what happened with the past and what he has said and what was true and was Daves opinion. I know the past is gone and ya cant change it, but it changed my perspective on certain events in Megadeths timeline....

Ehhh, I love Megadeth but I don't agree... RIP was great but after that the line-up's albums got weaker and weaker each time until they eventually ended up with RISK.. Mart can tear it up but he is a pop fag... Since he Marty's departure the bands album shave been getting heavier and better better each time.. I thought TWNAH was for teh most part pretty damn good and TSHF is great....

Well i have to totally 100% agree. i mean kirk is possibly the worst lead guitarist in the metal game today. hes just down right TERRIBLE. isolate the seemingly good 'Battery' solo (the main one) and take off the wah --- do so on a program such as guitar pro --- and truley look at how TERRIBLE it actually is. hes go 2 moves and 1 style. any guitarist would know his signiture licks (they are NOT very good) and his style is this - pentatonic WAH WHORE.
PUT DOWN THE FUCKING PEDAL KIRK! .. but wait, its really the only thing to cover up how terrible and off-key he is. fucking quit KRK, fucking quit.
OH AND LARS! HOW I HATE THAT DREADFUL DREADFUL LITTLE MAN. not only is a shitty shitty SHITTY crash-metal player (i cant stress that enough), but he is also a terrible man. hes a little dick who will take cheap shots at Dave whenever he can get them in... dave has every right to hate lars. and WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ON ST ANGER? OMG IT HURTS MY EARS! if i wasnt at my friends house when i heard it, and if it wasnt my cd i would have definitely snapped it in half then thrown it out the window on location. lars's drummign sounds like when i pretended to be a drummer when i was 3 years old, and i would just randomly hit any hollow object i would find... a little WORSE actually... i could go on, but ill leave it at this...

I think Metallica always has and always will stomp the shit out of Megadeth. I dig Megadeth ALOT, but if I had a choice in who to see live I would always go with Metallica hands down. So, they've had a few shitty albums, so what, so has Megadeth. Regardless there's a reason people love Metallica, it's not because of Load, Re-Load, or St. Anger, those albums sold shit compared to the rest, so if anyone says that they wrote those for popularity they're a moron. Metallica over the years has wrote some fucking kick ass tunes, plain and simple. How can ya not get pumped when ya hear Damage Inc.??? They were the biggest metal band when Justice was released and have been there ever since. And like I said they have put out some mediocre shit over the years, but it's no bandwagon they jumped on, they are the fucking wagon, most metal bands followed in their shoes trying to gain popularity. How come nobody says shit about Anthrax hopping on the "reunion" bandwagon?? It's the trendy thing for bands to do now, but nobody says that's selling out, or Scott being on reality t.v. shows, come on people, get over it, every band is the same with shit. They're all out for money, for some, it worked in their favor automatically making them "sell outs", for others, it didn't work at all so that makes them true metal??? Gimme a fucking break.

Megadave is way better. what proves this is comparing Risk to Load. Risk may not be badass but I'd choose it over load.
metallica was quoted as saying that there new album is supposed to be the best because they're older and sober and more mature. So what they were saying is that they were really fucked up and young last time and making fart jokes.

TSHF blew Risk out of the water, you gotta give them that.

All I can say anymore about the whole Metallica vs Megadave thing is; Metallica made themselves by takeing musicians from other bands. And I wish that they had never found Cliff, or that Cliff would have sided with Dave and they could have done something. Cliff did not need Metallica to do well. And maybe if they had not taken him away from what he had been doing he would still be alive today. Yeah I know that really has nothing to do with anything, I just wish Cliff was still with us. I suppose he is jamming with Randy and Dime now, not such a bad deal.

Both bands were among my most listened to when I first got into metal. I've heard and prefer a ton of other death and thrash bands since. The way I see the two bands basically is:

Megadeth: I like eveything from Killing to Youth. CW was ok. Risk was ass. TWNAH was ok. TSHF is their best since Youth imo. I'll check out their next album.

Metallica: I like everything from KEA to Black. Everything since has been ass. I haven't checked out an album since Load. Could care less if they broke up tomorrow.

That album did blow. I personally preffered The World Needs a Hero to it- Although no masterpice itself, their best album of the last 3.

I agree. I thought TWNAH was a small move in the right direction. Warhorse and Return To Hangar I really liked.
